I never saw the movie, but I "read" the novel in college. Meaning, it was assigned in a lit class and I skimmed through it and listener to people who read it talk about it. Seemed like a good, trippy story.

N Devito lol... It like foreshadowed his it's always sunny character

but VERITAS this movie was supposed to b monumental in showing realistic patient care of the times..
I THINK that there was actual controversy about it going over to the screen from the book w production it stuff at the time... And ECT was the new panacea for psychiatry.... IF i rmbr correct

won a sht load of awards tho... N rightfully so...

good call on devito....doc from bttf was in it too!

it was very realistic. the DCW would fight the patients. ECT was replacing lobotomies and icebaths.

The game has come a long way.

it also is a powerful testemant to the way we can imprison ourselves...remember that 90 percent of those guys were VOLUNTARY. they could have left at anytime.
