from prodigal youth to mental hospital blues,
im still burnin my brain with stenciled topical views,
stay impossibly tuned, churnin out necrotic gospels of doom,
put out in the air like corporate carcinogen plumes,
fostered catharsis and fumes, sons and daughters to you,
raised as fools to maintain the prosperous few,
if you live with your neck in the dirt it never will hurt..
we measure our worth, severed from Earth..where pleasure's concerned,
the dry fields will never burn and days keep night at bay,
while our mind's astray, wandering in fields of profit margins,
we construct barges to sail in the seas set to rise in the sky,
while wondering why this cycle has roots in our brains,
lost to the suit, black lungs still coughin the truth, our coffins the fruit,
left to bloom from the salten soil our seeds too often consume,
you can try to soften the tune, but power's too often abused,
as soon as you notice the News turns off and resumes,
stories black out like the grid got too hot for review,
thought processes stop and resume like lions locked in a zoo,
kept calm by drugs inside the meat we all constantly chew.
