Diode PancakeBrah @anyone else.

Been eating right (I think) and I try to run 3 times a week, not really looking to lift weights bc I'm trying to slim down first then build muscle, didn't know if you guys, or anyone else had some tips to spare, as far as the right diet and exercises.. I've look into muscle confusion but that's only for lifting I'm pretty sure and I'm not there yet.

I run for about a solid hour hour half every time, is that too much? Too little? And I'm doing this thing where I sometimes skip meals or go all day without eating but maybe eat once before bed, nothin big, salad cottage cheese and saltine crackers. I don't want to lose weight the unhealthy way but I want it to happen fast & it's the only thing I can think of.

Appreciate the help if you feel up to giving some advice.

Thanks.

i lost 40 lbs. in 3 months by consuming approximately 1,700 calories a day. eating chicken (not fried) as my main source of meats & poultry. i always keep bread in my diet contrary to what alot of people on diets seem to think. i just avoid white bread. i like Ezekiel bread as it is not made of flour or Eureka bread for a tastier treat which is a healthier wheat flour alternative. i also do not eat past 7 or 8 at night unless its a piece of fruit or very light cereal like cheerios (original) if i feel hungry and HAVE to eat something. also corn tortilla is much healthier than flour tortilla if your having a taco or burrito (ask for it to be made of corn) . avoid sodas even diet or cola zero ones, it all goes to your waist. stick with water like when you go out to eat. Basically what im trying to say is your diet is the most important part of your routine, gettung enough sleep is the second most important, then working out is the third. lift weights and run. dont wait to add muscle, u can add muscle while u lose weight. Plus its just more calories burned when u lift

Thanks a lot, I'll keep all of that in mind.

How do you lose weight and build muscle at the same time? I'm a broad shouldered dude, naturally, and I think I naturally have a sort of bigger build (not talking weight, but body structure)

I basically want to shrink the waist but also be tone aswell, I don't want to look like I just lost weight and no tone-age about me. If that makes sense.

anytime u lift weights ur adding muscle its just the poundage that makes the difference. u should be lifting an appropriate weight where u can get at least 15 reps from so its not heavy lifting. this well give u that "cut" look as u lose weight because muscles will show an athletic appearance while ur losing the stomach fat since stomach fat takes the longest to lose of any part of the body

Losing weight.....to then start lifting is wrong.

Lift now while continuing cardio.

your best option, tbh. Or portion control. dedicate your self to being extremely strict with your diet. 1 big mean which should be around lunch time, for breakfast and dinner smaller dishes of fruits and vegetables. Try an stay away from bad carbs and consume very little good carbs.

props jilti 's 1st reply.

cabbage soup diet recipe also works, and I am guessing that butter bean diet is also a given (if one wants to lose pounds fast and stay fit)... unless you're a fat American, in which case you can eat me.

Avoiding "empty calories" is ideal, and I believe that jilti made some very good points.

Also, google avoiding BPA, as BPA lowers testosterone levels. MSG is also bad for any healthy diet.

It is hard to have a healthy diet these days, with the grocery stores flooding the market of products that include things that are possibly bad for you and definitely not necessary for a your health. Eat organic eggs, cage free. Same goes with milk and other dairy products.

As for meats, the best meat you can eat is a non-farm animal that you have hunted and caught, cleaned and cooked, by your own hands.

I wonder what Mike Tyson's diet consisted of, through the ages of 16-21...

After Don King got to his head, he got fucked up in the head. Much sadness. Die hard, Mike Tyson fan here...

Ask Mike what he ate (before he ate Holyfield's ear, lol)!!!!

not healthy though at all..

stay away from preservatives, additives and sugar substitutes like aspartame and acesulfame k. each as little processed food as you can, which means if it comes in a tin it's usually bad. try eating more fish meals than meat meals, and if your gonna have meat limit yourself with red meat meal to once a week. seafood is becoming increasingly polluted though and i try to only eat line caught alaskan fresh water salmon. difficult for you americans but stay away from corn feed chicken/beef/lamb. stay away from any products containing gm soybean and other derivative ingredients from it. exchange white sugar/bread/rice/flour/pasta for the unbleached wholemeal versions, also demerara sugar and manuka honey are much better more natural sweeteners. cut out anything with why high fructose corn syrup derived ingredients in. limit dairy products but eat butter over low fat spread. have a balance to your diet and vary the menu. start getting involved with super grains like quinoa and eating more of an asian inspired diet.

not ideally healthy but for McDonald's its as healthy as it gets for the cheap menu as in response to YDK's post. Also, there will be times when u go out to eat fast food when its with family, friends, or girlfriend, so have to look at the better choices in that scenario besides a salad
i definitely agree on avoiding anything with bleached or enriched flour ingredients in it. Also on a good note, dont forget peanut butter, always a part of my nutrition daily
