Emery made some good draft choices. Horrible free agent decisions. Surprised he got fired but its reasonable. Trestman was obvious. I was a fan during his first year but he completely lost the plot in 2014. I'd be happy with Rex Ryan as our coach.
Harbaugh will make Michigan a contender. He's one of the best football coaches on the planet, period. He made Stanford worth a damn. Urban Meyer still going to lol @ him though.
They've secured second place for the next decade (after a few start up seasons), and for that they should be ecstatic.

It's a done deal

Still pissed.
Should of gotten rid of any diva players n kept harbaugh.
Feeling sick to my stomach about this.
Especially sick if he goes to another nfl team cuz we could of gotten something in return.
With that said...let's bring Gruden in.
Or bill cower. ....

gruden just signed the rest of his life away to ESPN for more money than anyone in the nfl could hope to pay him. chucky is done for at least another couple of years.

That's a solid list.
Here's a question; if we assume Belichick and Carroll are 1-2 (Carroll seems iffy to me but his success can't be argued) then who makes up the rest of the top 5 NFL coaches? I went through it in my head and its surprising, the lack of truly standout coaches. The best I could do was Bruce Arians, John Harbaugh, and someone out of a Chip Kelly/Rex Ryan/Pettine/Sean Payton stew.

I think Payton has proven he's an incomplete coach without a defensive genius on the other side of the ball. TBH, I think he'll get Mike Smith'd next year if they have a similar performance.
Arians/Harbaugh/Tomlin/Pagano are all up there but Arians needs more time to prove himself in the face of adversity. The other 3 I listed have definitely done that.
I don't really know what to make of McCarthy. He doesn't seem to do very much but be the right guy in the right situation. Got a Lombardi, though.
John Fox is a paper tiger. He's only as good as his assistants.
Plenty of stalwarts who always land a job like Reid, Lewis, Lovie, etc.. they do just enough, I guess.
But Monday is the whitest day of the week

I know quite a few Packers fans and none of them like McCarthy much. He's just a guy who stands on the sidelines. Rodgers gets visibly frustrated with him once a game. I agree with you on John Fox.
Tomlin was an omission by me. He's probably in the conversation. He's very much a players coach, though, and I'm wary of those types. Plus his Steelers teams have a knack for losing obvious wins (Tampa this year just as an example).
Pagano's solid. He's probably in the conversation.
I honestly think Rex might be top 5. But he's the opposite of your Sean Payton assessment. Needs help on offense. But his defensive prowess and ability to motivate his team is second to none.

im not sure if im forgetting anybody but thats all thats worth mentioning off top. coughlin deserves credit too tho because i wasnt overly impressed with any of those giants teams he fielded in super bowls, but i could just be forgetting a bunch of goons because its the giants who gives a shit
arians is a G tho for having arizona competitive and the colts played better under him as well honestly even with a young luck. pagano's AIGHT. he should be a d. coordinator at best
most these dudes spring board into head coaching careers after excelling as assistants and coordinators with the ravens, when really they don't deserve to be at the helm. just cuz you can UNFURL the sails doesn't mean you can NAVIGATE USING THE STARS

Odd that you are wary of player's coaches but are high on Rex. He's certainly got more dimensions that his brother, but I could not in good conscience put him up there with those other names. I would begrudgingly have to admit Coughlin was an oversight on my part, though, again - it's been proven he's only as good as his assistants (numerous times at that)

Ray Lewis is a murderer and you guys are named after a poem while wearing the color purple yet you act as though you are the toughest team in the league.
Also,
Joe Flacco looks like an inbred Simpsons character and has prohibitively crippled his teams chance at future success with his albatross of a contract.
Also,
Your secondary consists of actual actors who played football players in The Replacements.
Also,
You barely beat the Connor Shaw led Browns to make the playoffs.
THE RAVENS ARE FRAUDS, NOW AND FOREVER. RAY LEWIS IS THE BIGGEST HYPOCRITE TO EVER HYPOCRITE.
not really they're decent but fuck the ravens idk

ray lewis is not a murderer, he was a witness to a murder.
flacco should be paid more
our secondary is indeed abysmal.
connor shaw>brian hoyer (almost being serious. neither of them should start for any team so either or being better doesn't matter)
ravens will win their second superbowl of the flacco/harbaugh era, and instead of being compared to belicheck and brady they will continue to get no credit and excuses will be made for why they are constantly knocking on the door as the best team in football

Andy Reid has only had two jobs and shown a rare level of consistent competence at everything other than managing the clock, which is the most overrated aspect of coaching by far.
uh-oh
12-30-2014, 06:12 AM
rex ryan is good at seeming like a competent coach. hes not tho. he took a decent jets team to the conference title which deserves respect. from that point on tho they got progressively worse with him at the helm.
rob ryan amd rex are one in the same. the difference is rex has had more talented defenses to coach up while robs been stuck with bums in the nfc.
neither deserve the control a head coach is given.
I love rex as a coordinator. but im glad we went with harbaugh instead of ryan. his dumbass wouldve started troy smith and stuck with him for three years and went to flacco after putting terrible overhyped talent around him and it wouldve been a disaster.

Yeah I was aware of the Arian's/Bevell thing. Marinelli is news to me. He's done great work with that Dallas defense despite the very marginal talent on that side of the roster. No matter Marinellis ability to make a decent defense out of nothing I don't think our pass defense was going to be any better than it was this year. Other than Kyle Fuller there isn't one player in our secondary or linebacking corps worth a shit. But it is frustrating to hear our incompetent front office cost us not only Arian's (whose offense system would've been PERFECT for our roster) but also Marinelli.
Its dark days.
Can't wait for us to draft a 2nd round-grade linebacker with our first rounder this year
