If Aaliyah came along five years later and never died the internet would say she's a man, she'd release 2-4 more albums to no noise. Or, she'd go into major label hell, escape 5 years later to release some regular Aaliyah album that'd get praised as the 10/10 album of the decade due to her circumstance. It's sad she died, as it's sad any human dies. But her narrative is pretty easy to fill out. At least she released this song and video, which goes hard in perpetuity, forever and ever.
