When you use a homophone that is spelt different for both meanings how do you determine which spelling to use so that the other isn't lost on voters/viewers

i usually go with the less obvious reading. the other one should be clear from the context, so hopefully readers will get it both ways

A homophone doesn't need to have the two words spelt the same. For example at its most basic. There and their or to too and two
