Adonis, what I'd suggest you doing is something like "Verses are due on Tuesday". Then, whenever you get free time, finish work, whatever it is you do on Wednesday, then close them. That way everyone gets a few extra ours free but at the same time you've told them when it's due so they wont try and push you till the last second. Saves you feeling like you're the one closing people off as well.
