I'm at work right now, I'll edit my post in here once i've finished at the gym tonight.

It could be a lengthy one.

Anon are everywhere, even in positions of power. I may not be able to do a great deal in this global problem - but my skills here have been widely known/used. Thats just a small percent of what I'm capable of.

A lot of you know I work in immigration and have access to databases of information on immigrants, asylum seekers, passports, work visas, travel documents, names, addresses, dates of birth. (a lot are Syrian refugees)

There's a lot of interesting facts I could find about certain people, if I needed/wanted to. Stuff I could push in the right direction, if needed, to make their whereabouts known. Or their families whereabouts. I could certainly make life difficult for certain individuals, if I pleased, under the radar - with help from my /b/rethren.

Speak soon!

LOL Knuck sent one email to Karaoke he found through the admin panel and Kar's User CP and suddenly thinks he knows what he's talking about.

I've never had admin powers here, and still exposed numerous people.

This is deeper than just lobsterdogging someone's email box.

There are a few different modes of attack, Political Cracking - usually site defacement, taking websites down, locating and removing Twitter/social media accounts of supporters, redirects, denial of service attacks, information theft, distribution etc

There's a lot of sensitive information exchanged online that can be accessed, distributed to the relevant authorities, and dealt with appropriately.

You don't think it can be laid out in explicit detail the chain of funding and supplies from the U.S. and Israeli governments to ISIS? I beg to differ. You'll see it happen.

Sleeper cells around the world could potentially be exposed before attacks take place.

Aside from that obvious one, cutting off their communication will make a big difference. A large number of ISIS followers and recruits are through these websites.

ISIS have at least one known bitcoin wallet worth $3 million dollars. Sure, that's a relatively small amount, but hacking the Bitcoin accounts then prevents them buying weapons and vehicles on the underground black market. It's a small start, but it's a start nonetheless. And this will only grow in scale.

These are FACTS. These exist. These things are being looked into RIGHT NOW, and have been since at least September. It just got ramped up a gear.

Haven't read shit in this thread so I apologize in advance for my lazy boarding and probably saying what someone has already said, but:

* Identifying people/leaders and their whereabouts.
* Taking down propoganda sites and live beheadings.
* Generally just toying with them if they can because lulz.
* Doing this ^ will also destroy their reputation a bit and hopefully slow them down. (Imo this is naive and often adds fuel to the fire, whether that's good or not... I don't know, but it might have ugly consequences for those trapped down there but also show that these big ugly muhfuckers is not invincible to straight forward protesting either.)
* Stopping donations and/or releasing anti-terrorist messages on ISIS's own websites/social media.
* Anonymous also sent a lot of care packages to Egypt when the sick shit went down a few years ago as well, and helped leak videos and giving the citizens alternative ways of going online when the gov shut down the internet etc. If they're capable of that, who knows what they'll figure out to help others get videos/information out from the inside as well through their own channels.
* DDoS attacks, spamming mails and generally just making communication a hassle and confuse them a shit ton with mis information trolling their way in any way possible to get under their skin to show the world how little power they have when confronted by people with a cause and a goal, and show support in a rather passive-aggressive way.

A bit mis-info here and there but this is a great read and should make you understand what they're capable of and what drives a lot of them: http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2014/09/08/masked-avengers

thoughts after reading it: there's something democratizing about these hacker groups, to have a free-roaming counterbalance, but it's also unnerving. seems prone to impulse and disorganization, which can lead to errors. I'd love for them to wipe out records of student loans and shit, but that may be a bit more difficult than they're capable of. fascinating though, makes me wish I wasn't such a dumbass with technology.

thats not how this is done

do you not remember IAmRhetoric trying me?

http://www.netcees.org/showthread.php?t=119694&highlight=iamrhetoric&page=2

thread started there

i had no help at all, no admin contact, no pictures, no real name posted here (it was super easy to insult, as it turned out when i found it), no email addy (if you follow the thread from that link to the end, you'll see Rhet say himself his FB accounts etc arent even registered with the same email he used here) IAmRhetoric for confirmation

just checked my account to see what email i used

i retract my comments. idk how but well played.

I told you, I does this.

Surely me getting your full name with zero assist, no pictures, no email etc should at least throw you a warning as to the kind of person I am and what I'm capable of?

It's not like your name is John Smith. I didn't just pull the name Tyler FAGER out of my ass from the other side of the world.

Be careful who you speak to online, kid. It's a dangerous place. Hush vouches for you though so I'll let you live.

Want me to delete your government name from previous posts?

Hush was even in the thread as this went down, nothing came from him AT ALL thats on my life

i tracked Rhet down from the other side of the world with mere scraps of info and valuble sources

noone is untouchable

eventually they'll make a mistake

this can be done without the need for signup email addresses to be looked at from the admin cp lol

thats just a lazy way of exposing a couple fags here who should know better

It's not even solely about getting hold of the bitcoin purse, even though that IS possible, ANY cryptocurrency can be uncrypted.

That aside, you have to be aware of things like DigitalNote and that its used in regions with social tension/total surveillance.

by extremists like ISIS for funding/recruiting

these wallets are also used for peer-to-peer communication, almost like an encrypted "messenger" would be to exchange private info, to recruit/to plot/to exchange info on bombmaking etc

this is being used RIGHT NOW

infiltrating these or somehow setting up a masked redirect and keylogger to see what is being exchanged could be seriously useful

Yeah, that might seem awesome at first. I'm just afraid that the most important ones are people the feds or whoever investigating this shit already knows about and they want to continue to follow them without them going too much into hiding. When people expose shit it creates a certain dynamic that might be a bit misfortunate for the people that's already trying to track them that are sitting on information they want to build upon. I don't know if there's any story as to why they exposed them this time but I hope they tried to go through the right channels first before releasing the information to the public.

The few articles I read (New Yorker one got me google voyaging) seem to think that very few in Anonymous are skilled hackers.

Yeah, the thing many people forget (or don't know) is that ''Anonymous'' can be anyone and isn't exclusively hackers. The anonymous is simply that: anonymous people regardless of background with different skillsets, views and opinions that aren't tied to anything. No name or anything tied to you that you identify with such as a username etc. On 4chan, even though discussions (even intelligent ones at times) occur having a registered username (yes, it's possible to register a username on 4chan) is looked down upon because with it you kind of ruin the essence of raw conversation with nothing to draw the attention away from the subject and exactly what the messages in the replies on the site are for. Nothing to tie earlier arguments with that and that person as each debate/conversation is for the most part completely fresh from start to finish.

The anonymous is more likely to be me, your neighbor or someone else on this site than some coder that wants to fuck shit up for ISIS and cause chaos for the fun of it in a Comedian from The Watchmen's type of way. They exist, but ye it isn't as cyber, deep and secret as they try to make it. It's just an ideology of society and with many interpretations as well, don't take what I've said at face value either btw. But ye, this is mainly the gist of it.

And if you find technology, the internet and secret underground communities really interesting I'd highly advise you to read about this yearly puzzle to weed out the weaker unintelligent people and find certain highly intelligent people for a cause people know very little about as well. You don't have to understand too much technology to get what the article talks/is about, enjoy: http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/features/cicada-solving-the-webs-deepest-mystery-20150115
