yo so i'm killing my cable/internet
i have a note 4, and like a 52 inch cheap sanyo tv
i have unlimited data on my phone, and figured i could use it as a hotspot, turns out tho i have to pay extra for hotspot things, so i can't use the net like that
i'm not too worried about having the internet on my computer
i'm trying to figure out tho, what is the best way to just bring whats on my phone screen to my tv screen
so i can stream stuff on my phone data and watch it on my tv?
i've seen different cords, and chromecast things? but i don't know how any of that shit works
so what should i purchase
What happens when you connect the note to the television? Never even thought about that
Streaming isn't possible without WiFi to WiFi connection othwrwise

I've heard of iPhone to TV but never Android to TV. It should work, same concept.
Or just save up and get a Amazon Fire stick.
Might need WiFi tho..

Without paying for WiFi or Hotspot streaming 4G from phone to tv is prolly gonna lag pretty hard
An what ur trynna do I feel like u need some type of hdmi to mini cord... idk if that's even a real cord lol
ill nik-A
Buy yourself a streaming box lol im not sure thats what there called lol.
But like amazon stick, chromecast shit like that.
Heres my set up.
I have no cable. But i do have internet. But i stream everything from
Hulu and netflix. In the living room i throw to my chromecast through
My phone. My brother uses the chromecast to stream directly from a movie
Site, shit works dope.
In my bedroom i throw shows on through my apple tv device.
But again i vot internet.
I know tmobile offers home internet. Like they take your
Phones internet service and expand it a bit so you can run
Other things on it. If u ask they will give you a router from
Tmobile.
Ask your internet provider im sure ghey can do this

Yea im getting rid of my internet tho. I pay 60 a month for my phone 100 for cable and internet. So im going to kill that so i can just pay 60 a month and still have internet technically through my phone
Bags they do make em. I was googling last night tho high before bed so i couldnt really look into it ao i was gonna see if any ncgs had experience
There are different cords and "pins" for different phones and shit and with my luck ill buy the wrong one
If i can stream from my phone to a chromecast that would probably be best
I just didnt know if that needa its own internet or not

Like they got mhl to hdmi cords you plug your phone into a thing you plug an hdmi into too but reading reviews people are like they needed a 5 to 11 pin adapter as well
Its mostly people hooking tablets up too but word ill end up looking into it more later
Was hoping for a definitive just buy this type post lol
The problem is you need wifi for that work at its best bro
Why not just keep the internet and scratch the cable
Cuz honestly you dont need it.
Im telling you find out thru your phone provider if you
Can expand your phones internet to your home. Im almost
100 you can do that.
Then get your selve eeither an amazon stick or chromecast.
Really doesnt matter but ive heard you can program amazon stick
With shows and channels and live sports events.

You sure?
I'll look into it when i get home but in the 5 minutes i spent googling before coming here chromecast was thrown around.
Like there is a setting on your phone to like broadcast your screen to other screens, my tv doesnt have it built in but chromecast picks it up and does it.
Allegedly. I could be wrong.

Correct.
Chromecast connects to your local network over wifi and mirrors your phone screen over that data connection.
Does your TV have USB inputs? Might work that way,
Diode

USB is only used for power w/ Chromecast
Unless you are talking about using MHL and powering it with USB for a direct phone mirror rather than via Chromecast.

Yeah, you get buy those at Best Buy. HDMI to mini and stream your phone or tablet through your TV.
you can put xbmc/Kodi on your phone too.

I just tried with my galaxy didn't work lol
I just tried with my galaxy didn't work lol
Unless you have a smart tv which i doubt.
You cant jsut throw shit to the tv lol
You gotta have a chromecast or an amazon stick
Or one of the many boxes they sell.
Do u have anyof these?

MHL works. You do not need a smart TV. I have a cable that works on any phone that supports it. Worked on my old S4 too.

Punch it, then if that doesn't work, kick it.

MHL just uses one of your phone's microUSB port pins to send video. The cable plugs into the microUSB and then has a Y cable off it - HDMI on one end (for delivering video) and USB on the other (for power).

Correct.
Chromecast connects to your local network over wifi and mirrors your phone screen over that data connection.
so i would need wifi? i'm trying to get rid of my internet so i guess the chromecast isn't what i need.
now i just gotta figure out which cord(s) i need. which is where i was confused, because in my short time googling last night when i read reviews for different ones each one had mixed results, and some people had to buy 5 pin to 11 pin adapters and shit
but word i'm home now so i can figure it out. you have let me down NC's.
next time respond with direct links to amazon on what i should purchase, so when i purchase the wrong thing i can blame someone else for my folly thx
