Moving My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy above College Dropout is a recent development for me.

It's a good album. Possibly Great. I'll definitely give it a few more listens.

I mean, there are moments where I'm like "This song would be incredible if Kanye wasn't on it." because the features are all dope, and kanye spits some cornball shit on here (the taylor swift line, the ray j line, and especially the bleached asshole lines in Stretch My Hands pt. 1)

And I got really mad at the "ft. Andre 3000" on the finished version of 30 Hours, cause dre just adlibs the words "30 hours" for two minutes. No verse. Very disappointing, cause that beat is dope.

But it's good. I'd probably say 4th-5th.

Graduation is tough for me. I think it has the most not-good songs on it of all his albums, but it also has a handful of his best songs as well. I may need to give it and Yeezus another listen through, just looking at the tracklists again I feel like I may be underrating Yeezus too much.

808s though, idk. It wasn't bad, but I feel like it was a less-realized version of what Cudi's first album was. I'm stoked for TLOP though.

The bad tracks are the biggest reason for my distaste for Graduation, but I simply find a lot of it boring, too. "Flashing Lights" and "I Wonder" and "Everything I Am" are obviously important to the direction he was heading toward, but he still was so focused on making sure to rap every time that he hadn't tapped his full potential on those kinds of songs.

On the other hand, "Can't Tell Me Nothing" and "Homecoming" are elite Kanye West songs.

I think a lot of why I hold Graduation in such esteem is because of what it meant to me when it came out, and what I associate those songs with. Can't Tell Me Nothin is still one of my favorite Kanye songs ever. And even though everyone hated Drunk and Hot Girls, that was my shit haha. But yeah, my best friend who died a few years back and I used to bump that album all day every day when it came out. So when I hear it, it just takes me back to those good memories. Its tough to put MBDTF, yeezus or 808s above that.

Admittedly, Kanye's last two projects have been my least favorites. MBDTF was super average to me, and when everyone talked about it like it was the best album they've ever heard it kinda made me dislike it more cause of how overrated I felt it was. Yeezus may be "ahead of it's time," but it's also not my cup of tea.

On this record, Chance murdered Ultra Light Beam, Cudi made Father Stretch My Hands dope (pt. 2 was kinda dope on it's own). Don't like Famous. Feedback sounded like one of the better records to come from Yeezus-era kanye. High Lights is a dope Young Thug song. Freestyle 4 was meh. Waves is cool; mainly Breezy. FML was cool; Weeknd. Real Friends is dope. Wolves was okay. Didn't sound much at all like the record he had played/performed a year ago when Sia and Vic were on it. 30 Hours is dope. Beat is hard as fuck. I actually don't care much for No More Parties. I won't skip it, but I won't specifically play it either. He turned Facts into one of the dopest songs on this album by switching up the beat. Fade is meh.

Yeah, I think 4th-5th is a fair placement.

Not better than the first three, but definitely a better album than MBDTF and Yeezus.

I don't think you are, if you think it's lazy and uninspired. If you've read the interviews of those who have worked with him, he's as obsessive and manic as ever. He's basically a crazy person. He'll call in five other producers just to have them add tiny little touches that we can barely even notice.

You're walking into a Picasso exhibit and wondering if a second-grader painted these things. I get that it's not for you, and honestly it's not supposed to be for everyone. You can be as manic and crazy as you want when cooking a burger. Its still ground beef. You arent comprehending the level of skill it takes to make what he ised to make. What hes making now is ridiculously dumbed down. Its a meticulous process to make a synth sound good. Its not difficult to play a synth melody of the likes he does. So he can be taking his time to make it sound great, whether beefing it up, mixing, choosing other sounds to play with it etc. But the final product still doesnt require as much skill as it does time. He isnt like dre or timbaland or countless others, pharrell etc who makes music with synths and all that, in the sense that the melodies and counter melodies are dope prior to fine tuning.

Its like comparing a metallica solo to an albert king blues guitar freestyle. The metallica one can sound cool. It might take awhile to get the distortion right, but what albert king os playing is technically superior
