I still dont know how to link properly on my phone lol. Someone post the cold open vid tho or whatever its called
They got dmx narrating it. Lmao
Im hype. Feel like a couple weeks ago i was hating on the ufc for not having likable personalities and now boom
MCGREGOR/DIAZ
havent been this hype in a long time. Debating watching a shitty live stream, or staying off the net and dling a hd rip of it the day after.
@oats to thread
give us some knowledge so we can bet
who should we be putting our money on (not just this fight, the entire card)?
I'm putting a hundred on McGreg in the first.
Diaz is dumb and I'm trying to not let that cloud my judgement lol but he seems as if he doesn't think he can win. A lotta dead air during his interviews. He looks sloppy too on a skinny fat tip. He couldn't make the 155 or even 160. If it does go more than one round he'll be gassed. However, McGregor sure as he'll isn't used to getting clocked by a 170 pound man. Diaz will come out flying.
bet on McGregor sraL. I kinda go back and forth on how/when. Diaz is tough to put away, never been knocked out proper (caught a TKO loss a few fights ago). he has been knocked down 4 times in the UFC, though. I'd guess either a late stoppage or decision. If I were a betting man, I'd put money on a 2nd or 3rd round TKO. my personal prediction is a McGregor UD, 50-45 but decently competitive.
Holly Holm winning by UD should be a safe bet for good $, but if you're feeling froggy I think Miesha has a better chance to win than oddsmakers are giving her. a weird one that should pay off is Nordine Taleb against Erick Silva. Silva is the favorite, but he's so inconsistent, and on the decline imo. Taleb is solid and he trains at one of the best gyms in the world, and his game is patient, which is Silva's kryptonite.
Other than that, I'd have to check out the odds for the other fights. I'm no betting expert by any means, though.

Luckily my 500 dollar bet didnt go through, my bank blocked the ccbill transaction lol
But i bet a dude straight up 100 on diaz at work. just that he would win, not how.
HYPE
im going to download it and watch it in hd tho sunday morning lol, so its safe to say im going to have to stay away from all forms of media.

The plus is diaz has little to no power tho. Its not like he has to cut really to get to 170. Im sure he walks around a little heavier maybe but i think people are blowing his weight up.
He couldve easily cut to 155 but they gave him 8 days notice and since he doesnt get the benefit of a camp he didnt want to cut. He said he accepted it at 155 but they asked others after and when no one accepted they went back to diaz and he told them nah he aint cutting now since they jerked him around. Could be a lie from a socially retarded person of course but it sounds like something a diaz would do lol.
But yea diaz only advantage physically is his frame. Hes alot longer, but its not like hes a stronger harder hitting guy than 90 percent of the "midgets" mcgregor has faced.
As far as skills his boxing is better, but overall striking the advantage is mcgregor. Im sure his jiu jitsu is better as well.
If diaz can frustrate mcgregor with his reach it could be a fight. I dont see mcgregor stopping him tho. I see mcgregor mutilating his legs and fucking him up tho lol
Still pulling for the upset lol

this is really two lightweights fighting at 170, tho. catchweight, technically. welterweight bout in name only.
as far as 'sparring with fighters in various classes' - true, but sparring isn't a fight. if you knew anything about mcgregor's (cerebral) approach to the game you'd know he's not the nova uniao or chute boxe type dude who will do heavy sparring and eat power shots to acclimate when his tenets are precision, speed and movement. lol. he definitely isn't afraid to take a hit, but like i said: diaz is not a fully-fledged WW, anyway.
diaz doesn't 'hit hard' but his punches have pop. uh oh's breakdown is pretty accurate, diaz's length could give him problems on the hands, but kicks - which mcgregor has all day and diaz generally eschews - negate that length. diaz is also very hittable, mean-mugging and offering his chin to guys sometimes -- dude's a straight savage. i think he loses, but grits out a good fight. i think he could actually trouble him with his grappling but i can think of only ONE fight where diaz opted to tangle with a guy and that was with melvin guillard years ago. despite great jiu jitsu savvy, neither brother likes using it because stockton slaps.
a lot of mcgregor's counter-punching game rests on baiting opponents so he can backstep and crack them with his tremendous left. backstepping doesn't work so well with taller guys generally (mcgregor's frame is long for the 145 class, possibly 155 too), but he's shown he can lead when he wants with push kicks and left straights albeit this was against chad 'midget' mendes.
also, oats - i hope not re: nordine/silva. erick has looked pretty dismal off the steroids but taleb is very average and also french. if he wins it fucks up my accumulator.

agree with all of this.
I think Diaz is doing it for the money. But McGregz...he's going out there to catch a body for real. The press conference they had, McGreg was talking about how he was gonna kick his ass, and picked apart Diaz's fighting style. I believe him when he says he's gonna destroy him. I think it'll be a quick fight, which is why I'm not gonna pay for it.

I'm not super confident, cuz Silva is capable of some spectacular offense, but every time I think positively of him, he finds a way to fuck it up lol. he's literally lost every fight that he didn't finish in the first round.
Orc I got Baileys and coffee on deck, about as faux Irish as I'll get. excited for this one though.

Haha nice brother. I'm super excited. Keep in mind it's 00:38 right now here. I've a long night ahead.
I don't know how you guys do it. I could barely wake up on time for Silva-Bisping last week. it's 945am for me now on Sunday, so it's pretty easy to wake up and get to it.

now admittedly i havent kept up with the ufc like i should
but wtf
how does the ufc justify putting sanchez/miller on the undercard and putting these two dykes in the main card? if i purchased this on ppv id be pissed.
also who won miller/sanchez? just tuning in lol
Miller-Sanchez headlined the free fight pass undercard, which fighters prefer to being the first fight on the ppv. Also, this was a good fight.
Makes sense. More viewers for FS1 probably than PPV purchasers that don't really watch until the main event(s)

03-06-2016, 01:34 AM
if he punched himself out in 1 rd basically something is seriously wrong. he didnt have to cut weight really or anything.
granted i have beverages of the alcoholic variety in my system, and weed in my lungbags, but i seen it as nate frustrating him with his boxing, he caught him with some stiff ones, never really let him recover, kept his hands in his face and mcgregor looked for a way out
looked more related to being punched in the face than punching himself out
but like i said im somewhat impaired and watched it as it happened on a grainy seldomly choppy stream lmao
ima watch again in the morning
uh-oh
03-06-2016, 01:38 AM
but yo people who are actually up on the mma and divisions correct me if i'm wrong
but basically this means nothing. diaz is still the journeymen who will bounce around never getting a title, and mcgregor will go back to fighting 45 and 55ers strictly
like maybe connor could be RDA, and then diaz could beat connor again at 55? maybe lol. i don't see diaz beating rda. granted i didnt THINK he could beat connor, i just wanted him too and made myself biased enough to put money on it in my retard noggin
Diaz is now a bonafide money weight fighter. he won't win a title, but I don't think he, or any of his fans, really care if he does or not. I just wanna see him in big fights.
as for McGregor, I think this assures that he will stick around longer at featherweight, and it confirms my suspicion that RDA beats him handily. But you're correct uh-oh to say that it doesn't affect his featherweight prospects much, and probably not his lightweight prospects (other than postponing them). He's definitely no welterweight, though.
also, you're right to say that Diaz frustrated him and started to make the fight his game - kept McGregor at the end of his punches, ate punches to give them back and won the battle of attrition. McGregor shooting for a takedown was the first time he tapped in the fight. the subsequent tap was just academic.

Yea bags. Connor was moving up to 155 to try and win ANOTHER belt. The 155 champ got hurt, diaz fights at 155, or has in the past, but since he only had 8 days notice they fought at 170 instead. So basically it was a 155 fight, where connor doesnt hold a belt. Or catchweight fight or whatever the fuck. For connor to lose his belt he has to fight a 45 lber and lose

I think Diaz taking a fight with no training is more important than McGregor not cutting. McGregor has no ground game point blank, at least not last night. He wouldn't be much in higher weight class aka natural weight.

He's never had a ground game.
This was his natural weight.
Fight situation favored Conor as much as it possibly could have @ 170. He's an awkward striker with a generally stiff chin and confounding footwork who used his size to determine distance and pace for everyone he fought *because* he was fighting well below his actual weight class.
Matched up against someone of equal size, all that went away. The Diaz's have stupid iron chins and have no problem closing distance to strike because they are completely reckless standing up. Once it went to the ground, Conor was already mentally checked out - he had no alternate gameplan.
