Lol reed u playing w me? Unsure lol
Word to Hush will check
An Yea I actually like that album too oats...surprisingly...the robot beats an spoken word an just utter chaos somehow works as a cohesive unit lol.
this is tough, since I imagine you've heard basically everything I have. How about Devin the Dude's "Just Tryin Ta Live?" Maybe not a classic, but it's dope.

Ya kno he's on my radar an I've regrettably neglected him forever despite a Lotve people I kno holding him in such high regard.
Good call. Will grab.

Look up 'Lucre' by Billy Woods on YouTube. If you like that, you'll enjoy the album. 'Dour Candy'
Euphrates 'Stereotypes Incorporated' is dope and overlooked.

yes and no
while I am not a big Aesop fan myself, I regard that as a really good album and imo his only good one.
however I am also aware that you and everyone here hate him, so I just threw that out there for lolz.

southern scene is real diverse tbh, depends on how old school you want it and how southern you want it.
like geto boys is more gangsta, 2 Live Crew pioneered shit in florida. Arrested Development was on some thought-provoking soulful type shit for a minute. You prolly familiar w/ 8ball & MJG and Petey Pablo already tho.
or like David Banner?
Yelawolf is from Alabama (I think), a lot of people around here like that shit but I aint feelin tbr
New Orleans scene is prolly most well-known, but as you already know, it got repetitive and played out. Prolly couldn't recommend some shit you haven't already heard or shit that doesn't sound a lot alike.
sorry if I captain obvious'd sum shit but you did say wasn't really in-the-know on it, so hadda start sumwheres

UGK is very much my shit. Here's my album rankings:
1. Ridin' Dirty (1996)
2. Underground Kingz (2007)
3. Super Tight ... (1994)
4. Dirty Money (2001)
5. Too Hard to Swallow (1992)
6. UGK 4 Life (2009, as in, two years after Pimp C died)
I still give steady rotation to the top four. Neither guy's solo stuff compares to their best together. Mostly, Bun B is a better rapper but needs Pimp C as a counterpoint and producer.
Pastor Troy was never my thing, either. But Batty is right to mention 8Ball & MJG. I don't think anything, even Comin' Out Hard (pause) or Living Legends, necessarily is must-have-classic like Ridin' Dirty, but both of them have put out a ton of great music together, and their solo careers are good too. And it's all aggressive as fuck.
I'd also recommend all David Banner, but I'm pretty sure you already listen to him. The first two Mississippi: The Albums and Certified are great.
Forgotten Southern rap classic: Jim Crow, Crow's Nest. The whole album bumps.

favorite Pimp C song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4tTJE3e-20
you can hear him talking about "you should've killed me that night in that hotel". He's talking about the time Master P, C Murder, and Big Boz kidnapped, hog tied and pistol whipped the shit out of him in a hotel. Called Prince J and asked for the green light to kill him. Was told not to kill him. Song is dope though. Pimp just got high as fuck and talked a lot of shit to people he shouldn't have.

Yup. It doesn't go as hard as David Banner's solo stuff, though. Mississippi: The Album is fucking crack.

You may have already heard it, but I would recommend Vakill, Worst fears confirmed. That album is in the last decade. But a little bit before that his album Darkest Cloud is still his best. He has a new one also Armor of God.
Bags if you haven't already listened to Ridin Dirty by UGK, I highly recommend it. grabbed it cuz of this thread, and it's dope as fuck
Trouble - Skoobzilla is fire
i was feeling that lil uzi tapes beats but something about dudes style/flow I'm not feeling
