The contemporary epoch

On the surface it’s beautiful,
Kyoto orchids in bloom, behold.
The material surplus is irrefutable.
Endorphins as pharmaceuticals
Diacetylmorphine leaves me immovable
I’m nervous in my own funeral.
Smog toxins in my lungs, using purgatives and albuterol.
Having to put into a coffin my own son.
Carving freedom’s doctrine on my tongue
So never to forget the noxious gas chambers.
Zyklon B vapors, agnostic by nature.
A porcelain soul dropped and shattered
Descartes making thoughts to matter.
Antibiotics marking the scientific age.
Darwin’s nonspecific race, with insipid traits
Argued to have bestowed the DNA we inherit today.
Empiric faith as Homo sapiens become the futuristic apes.
Yet, no one could explain a cell’s liquid space.
Abiogenesis says life derived from a cryogenic state.

On the surface its beautiful,
Relaxed, with a suit and tie working in cubicles.
Labor laws not in effect, a child, the stone mason
Growing up to know the depression of his own nation.
Groveling street orphans, infants suckling on air
Wall street muggers hustling for heirs.
Einstein indubitably disproving Newtonian physics
Relativity explained through motion and distance.
Oppenheimer’s emotional distance, explosive existence
Plutonium shipments, cancerous omen remission.
Nietzsche’s absurdity on the notions of spirit
Derived from Plotinus metaphysics.
Swallowing anxiolytics to reach the echoes of sleep
Polio vaccine, but no cure for the Leper’s disease.

There’s a troll under the bridge
No one wants to look at. Comfort and bliss.
Cherry soda shop, two rosy lip lovers kiss.
Alas, we suffer because we discovered it
Mental disorders abound, 1950 asylums.
Al Capone American-Sicilian violence
Top crime lord, subdued by the syphilis virus.
Rockefeller’s behemoth avarice. Fiends so ravenous
Their heart is gangrenous. Beings who feast on basilisks
Greed akin to a serpent’s malnutrition. Gandhi's mercy exhibitions.
Sexual revolution releasing dormant inhibitions. Early television.
Che Guevara’s nonconformist inquisition. Endorsing ammunition.
MK Ultra’s distorted apparitions. Disturbing avolition.
The pain lady liberty has seen.
History repeats because the mystery we seek is in the misery we reap,
Consider it at least.

Coach like get in the game ya head in the clouds
I used to love going to shows week in and week out
establishments putting on events and going to clubs
everyone looked up and just sorta shrugged
Ride around you like a road keep the fire hot
and this aint italy but my capital stay fly like Rome
And like a boat on a winters day I'm about to float
But this was like a dam I was digging to stop any floods
Was it love or just a crush I've been a thug since a young pup
Nah its just a fuck cops likes to wire the dough in my blood call me gas I gotta pump
I don't know how to complete this story without follying up
Cause its effecting my family I'm thinking about it constantly
But its something unique like hair thats curly
You can call me fifty cause yall best start begging for mercy
This case aint a jury its something fresh like a cup of coffee
Ya body get outlined and ya crew getting ate like a curry
Call you some puck still ain't skating on ice like a game of hockey
Lock my money in cubbies divide you up into seperate countries
Wash dishes like Tony keep 1 cocked call it an uzi
I'm a shroom like boomers my wife is a straight coogar
Fill my bullets with powder last name Simpson like Homer
Smoke you every half hour spark up like a motor
Plant you like seeds watch you turn into some flowers
Couldn't keep it real so I'm smoking you like pot
Asking shorties if they fancy a ride and they hop up on it like a mop
Picking up a mic tying knots like you was wearing a bowtie
Roll up a road and get jumped just for writing some punchlines
Drain you of your blood think you can play me like a schmuck
Digest this like drugs sweep you up under the rug
Fit you like o.j. fitting a glove magazine like inside stuff
Carry u around like you a handgun pull you out like a tool
Welcome you like a church and keep a Grail in case im searched
People like fuck it it's your word against ya homegirl
We gotta start talking before we can make an impression first
I'm painting a kanvas dreaming of a horse and carriage
I guess you could call it love and marriage
clean your lenses instead of wearing you like glasses
How half the time dudes just dreaming about lasses
But right before the tears we were all rolling around on the ground laughing
This topic if you don't get it is all about how time is passing and what exactly has just happened

This might be my favorite verse from you. I rapped this in a Ras Kass, Nature Of The Threat kinda flow. This is pretty dope. The wording on what I quoted was well done in my eyes. No complaints really, solid ass verse.

2K, seems like a scatter brain-esque verse. I dunno man. There seems to be a loose story in there, seems like you're playing some sport day dreaming about a chick, then you start throwing punchlines & similes & bars to that girl you're now battling.. Lol, it just was too sporadic for me. This could've been cool if it was more concise.

Buddha's verse was dope. 2K.. needs focus. *shrugs

Buddha....you didnt start the fire because it was always burning
I enjoy how you have cut your lines down, & worked on your wording.
the flow to this hits you so rapid its like some Immortal Technique/Bone Thugs shit
I would have cut the line about burying your child because you didnt really touch on it...
or maybe you did, maybe the ills of society had its effect on him in the end
whatever the story is you went off into a stream of consciousness my friend
you float us down a river of history while showcasing a this worlds rotten past
the intro could have been done differently but to be real, this verse is quite memorable...nice work

2...I honestly dont know if you are making a mockery of the league
or maybe you are just some idiot savant that needs a blunt of weed.
whatever your issue is I dont think you fully comprehend the happenings
you need to make up your mind on what you want to be when *rapping*
if you want to write a thousand lines that lead up to nothing go to the cypher
try to grow from what you read, slow down & try to excel as a writer...
I dont know what else to say to you aside from I only got 10 lines in...
then I stopped...

v/Buddha, this was an unfair battle....really

2k - I liked the concept, and that closing line was pertinent. The problem though, is the metaphors and line concepts were rather weak. You decided not to go with heavy imagery or detail and instead went with these 'word plays' that were rather remedial. Still, you get cool points for executing a fairly dope concept rather well.

Buddha - Deep shit man, this is classic buddha, jam packed with info, I love it. You seem a tad rusty, but this verse is lovely none the less. You def covered some ground though man. This was a small glimpse in how your brain works, it was a bit like 2k too in all honesty. The way you jumped from thought to thought, far more coherent then his verses, but in the same vain.

v/Buddha

better mechanics and more captivating, pretty damn close though in all honesty.
