i've got 20 hours lol, 10 yesterday, 10 monday. stayed a couple hours over each day to help make up for how behind the shop got from me taking a weeks vacation

all caught up now tho so its back to 8 hours a day. i'll work saturday with any luck too tho.so it'll be like 54 hours on paper. which is plenty when your working in the 80+ degree humid ohio heat fixing dents and rust lol

i do a lot of diff shit tbh

i register births/deaths and marriages for people, i marry people, they see me when they want to give notice that they intend to wed and I give them all the legal paperwork

i deal with the coroner and funeral directors, issue them their forms to go ahead with cremations/burials and check there doesn't need to be any further involvement with post mortems/inquests etc

I deal with muslim burials as obviously they have to be buried within a few hours, i give the death cert the okay to go ahead/ organise someone to go dig the hole on short notice

i deal with deathbed weddings for terminally ill people looking to marry just before they die

i work as an immigration officer for foreign nationals wanting to become british, I deal with UK citizenship requests and oversee the ceremonies, I deal with the home office and UK borger agency in detecting sham marriages

i deal with people looking to change their names legally, get married in foreign countries, removing the "father" from birth certificates via DNA tests, im a bereavement officer who can notify all the government departments etc to stop pensions/tax/insurance/close bank accounts

a lot of diff roles in one job, tbh all semi-related though

been here about 12-13 years now

honestly, not uncommon to regularly work that many hours or more every week in Korea. I work 6 days a week plus countless meetings plus several hours a week for my writing gigs. tomorrow, for instance, I'll be working from 10am to 1am, possibly longer if I get dragged into the extra after-meeting stuff, which I usually do. my Korean coteachers literally work everyday almost the entire year.

aint that a huge strain on your relationship though?

definitely can be at times. before I took the promotion we talked about it, though, so we're on the same page. she also picks up Saturday classes frequently, so even though we're not on the exact same schedule, we're both grinding. we walk the dog in the morning together, spend most nights together, and we both have Sundays off. so it's aite for the time being.

I usually put in 40 at one job and around 20 at the other.. average around 60 a week.

I sometimes spend stupid tho so it counter acts the amount of work I put in ><

I start conference calls at 8:15am. I usually leave work around 7:15pm. Sometimes I'll get a lunch break. And I worked 37 days straight from end of april through all of may.

I make decent money, but this shit aint worth my sanity, social life and being exhausted all the damn time. I applied for a new job in the company literally this morning. It'll be a 9-5, monday-friday making slightly more money. Like 5-8k/year more. Nothing huge. But i'll get my sanity back, and I'm really looking forward to that.

I work from home. Financial Analyst. I'm based on salary so it doesn't really matter what hours I work aslong as I get my task completed within a timely manor.

Like.. I'm "working" as I type this. I'm currently divulging into the realm of mutual funds. How fun.

More than 50hrs a week on a regular basis is too much unless you literally need that money just to get by. I'd rather be poor and have time to live life.

this. I work 20-30 hours per week yet I have tens of thousands in my accounts and never lose money. Paid for work put in not time put in. Never acquiesce to bureaucracy like everybody else here and that's how I like it. Sales Gawd I make more than most of this board off that meager time put in...it's sad.

lmao i remember we showed bank balances last time and i earn more than you though

how that work if what you're saying is true?

no bullshit either

it was your "post two stacks" thread thats why i remember it because y'all were posting dollars and i was posting in pounds, so my shit was like double what yours was worth and it took me a minute before i even realised

i thought all of you were matching me pound for pound (pun always intended, obv)

I can't even compete in this. I try to work as little as possible tbh, took a personal day yesterday lol.

I don't want more money, I want more life.

I don't mind grinding tbh, though it's also a necessity at this point since I'm still in debt (will be out of it end of this year though). I also enjoy my job.

I find I manage my time better when I'm busy, but when I've worked less in the past I end up wasting a lot of time getting high and jerking off, literally and metaphorically. I travel to 1-2 new countries every year, indulge in my interests and hobbies, and I work a lot. Plus, being busy helps distract me from my various neuroses and existential crises, so that helps.
