View Full Version : Promised Land

I've been dubbed depressive for my demoralizing message,
Like I'm flawed cause I don't embrace the wreckage. Or hug the menace.
I thrive at building. But the lie alight is winning.
There aint no victor on Earth when the price of rye is killing.
I'm up for closure now. For all our kidding,
There's a stinking odor to this time we live in.

I use to be the hollow type, caught up in the hollow life.
Words were empty, and the only worth I saw was 'wealthy'.
There was no promised land, there was just righteous war.
And a rightful cause to let flight my horde.
Zombie countries, nations: lightless,
And I really believed that 'things' were the shit that's priceless.

I was cursed, syndrome tunnel vision,
A biased masquerade; a virtue'd villain.
But then I realized: it's fucked up, this system.
I'm no gangster bighead
I was was a dick in a sea of bigger dickheads.
So what's the real deal? Discuss:
Is nobody else wise enough
To invite a brighter thought and give their fuckin disguises up?
Seems the whole planet's views are fucked. It's not healthy.
From childhood up we're all brewed up in envy.
It's poured out in vials used to poison our enjoyment.
Employment. Debt. Death. Swapping poignance for pennies.
So mosey on over to hate for your rights and your country,
And fight for your money. Kids in plight still go hungry.
Honor the slaughter. All our dollars are bloody.
Worship the lie for your milk and honey.
But it's worth nothing.
