Nice. I'd probably go with white cords too. They stand out. Should've resized in paint though, scrolled down and the whole screen was just your fingernail. (I'm on a work PC so this screen is fucking tiny, old ass, early 2000's type of screen.) I'm actually upset about the screen yo.
Anyways, dope. Any other changes to your build?
Man I want a water tower with strobe lights and a see thru case like I'm actually going to use it lol.
I need a new comp. my current one has diabetes

I'm off the PC market these days. Back in the day my pops used to rebuild his machine every year or so and I would get his parts. Haven't built one personally since, but used to repair and build them commercially. But the business PC's like optiplex or the Lenovo were always just swap broken for replacement.
Cool rig, tho.

Dam that's dope how much did it cost you to put it all together?
The whole system or the cable sleeving?
To cable sleeve I already had a box cutter, lighter, staples, electric tape
Had to buy 5 bucks of paracord
Dollar bag of small zip ties
4 bucks for heat shrink
So about 10 bucks for me. If you had nothing still under 20
But it also took me about 8 to 10 hours to do lol
I would buy the tool to depin the conectors for 6 bucks if I did it again, the stapels got really annoying more than once

I was so invested in it I had ti finish lol but they were so weird with how they shot out8 pin to 8 pin
I'm leaving then in like that for about a week so they stiffen in place and then lacing them together like I did the 24 pin
Will post an update pic when I do that
Spring was for nust getting a new build together

Razah if you look at the last link I posted not the pic but above it it's a higher res pic of the inside, you think routing the gpu cables through the side like the 24 pin through the top empty ssd pass through would look better?

I'd think so. Also, seems like the cables are long as hell. Any way to just store them in the bassment by the PSU cover or somewhere in the back of the mobo/case. That little chunk that's tied together is bothering me. Also, how the cables aren't in a straight line.
You just sleeved your regular mustard cables? I've seen those little, I dunno what they're called, pretty much plastic little frames that help keep your cables in a straight line.

Cable combs
Can't find the right set they all have weird combos of sizes for modular units. Talkijg to a guy on Reddit atm that 3d prints them
And yes I sleeved a bunch of non modular mustard and ketchup cables, saved 20 bycks on the psu to deal with them and wanted the project

word we got the same graphics card, mines the MSI though, im dumb with all this shit though and was scared i'd buy something that wouldnt fit, but i figured since i had an msi motherboard it should work. but yea the 980 ti 6gb
its ran pretty flawless in everything for me, only time it gets taxed is in total war when i try to do HUGE battles, but i think there is a bug in total war in recognising graphic memory. like it says i have 3800 mb instead of 6000 or whatever and i seen on forums and shit alot of people have that problem as well. i dunno

Havent done anything with it yet, got it as a placeholder sincr I sold my 480. Gonna sell it to my buddy so he can sli with his other and grab a 1080 ti around xmas
It shouldn't have any problems in really any game. Total war is more a cpu centeic game as far as I know
Maybe it's just poorly optimized though

I'm gonna do some overclocking and benchmarking tonight so I'll let you know how much it takes out of the 980 vs the cpu, how long have you had your stuff and how often do you clean things/reapply thermal paste etc?

Word that first one seems reasonable. That second one might not have the capacity I want. I willing to spend if it means I can game on it with out a hitch.

dope. i was wondering why you had a dope pc setup on a dresser lol.
also i don't know how i gamed on an hdd.
nothing better than open world games like fallout basically loading instantly. when fallout 4 dropped i had it on my hdd, because my main ssd i was using solely for windows and shit (just a 125 gb). but i put in a big SSD for my games and music and programs. its ridiculous how much faster shit loads. fallout illustrated it best.
the game would load before the load screen would finish loading lmao

07-10-2017, 08:53 PM
word im due for a new one, mine isn't pretty to look at, at this point. but i learned over the years its better to invest in a good chair than anything lol. when' you fluctuate from 210-250 and sit like a retard its easy to put office chairs through the rigors of time
but i bought this 200 dollar one like 4 years ago AT LEAST and its still going strong. just the "leather" leather is kind of peeling from wear and tear.
but i've broken plenty of chairs along my journey in wasting time at my desk through the years

Do games really load faster on a SSD?
I mean, obviously it loads faster as far as start up time & whatnot but.. aren't games set with that certain 'loading/waiting' time or is that due to the hard drive you have it on??
I might just buy a SSD :)
uh-oh

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqoKUFGjFR0
Its basically just how quick your computer can load up the files, and. I remember reading how they work and forget now but basically an ssd can bring up files and shit much faster, so in a game like fallout where it has to have every resource available to create the open wotld around you, its just way faster at doing it
With an hdd i would get loading screens running through the world lol. Like the game would pause for a second and keep loading. The sdd only has loading screens where they are meant to be and they are very brief
Any game with tips and hints on loading screens you dont get enough time to really read anything lol

The video doesn't show up on Netcees, I copied & pasted the link though.
There's so much debate in the comments. They're saying dude rigged the results, other people with the same drive aren't getting the same results. Also they're all mentioning little things that might change results, like.. the SSD being specifically for games, or the SSD having Windows/Programs/Games on it..
I still want the SSD prices to drop though. I would need like a terabyte if I do go the SSD route.

It's worth it
uh-oh
07-11-2017, 06:38 PM
yea i wouldn't just take the 1 videos word for it though, there are countless side by side comparisons
some games only load a couple seconds quicker, some games load a full minute quicker etc. ssd's are just all around faster at loading files then an hdd

You prefer a keyboard & mouse?
I mean, it makes sense for first person shooters and whatever kind of game Starcraft/Age of Empires is, but besides that- a controller just makes sense. (Not a Steam controller though, their attempt was decent but not quite there yet)
I dunno, playing Batman Arkham Origins felt weird with the Steam controller. It's "right stick" / mouse pad was hard to get the sensitivity for moving the camera around right. It was dope with the mouse, but steady left clicking for every hit got annoying/weird. It just feels more natural to me with a X Box One controller.
PS: X Box One controller > PS4 controller
