I'm currently at 265 pounds (120kg) for reps squatting. Have a dodgy ankle that I fucked up the ligaments in a while back. Only recently got back up to that so looking forward to moving up

yeah usually in the elite powerlifting meets when they going insane weights they will have a team of spotters....one on each side at least and one behind the squatter as well

thanks for sure tho man, im at 210 now so my plan is to cut down to around 195ish reason being that I don't just start trying to build off my current physique right now is that I have lot of additional body fat that needs to go.....the whole idea of turning fat into muscle is a myth broheem...you can recomp....which is basically the real life version of that concept....losing body fat while putting on lean muscle mass......this is a lot harder to do and a lot slower than just focusing on one or the other tho ie putting on lean muscle mass or losing body fat. the most optimal way to do it is to focus on one goal at a time for a 3month period.

I will be doing a bodybuilding routine the entire time im cutting weight tho so don't think im just going to be dieting to lose weight the whole time I will be lifting with a bodybuilding routine immediately

Yea, I know the turn fat in to muscle is a bogus myth and building lean muscle mass is a very slow process but word.

How much fat are you trying to lose, tho? Shits fucking tough being that guy with ZERO percent body fat. My boy's a body builder and does all that extra shit like competes and trains and all that and his body fat percent is like 1 fucking percent and he tells me every day it's nearly impossible trying to sustain that shit.

What I don't get is how much he fucking eats. Like the dude takes 20 shits a day because he's consuming so much throughout the day and shit...

Fuck, I was at 225 - the heaviest I have EVER BEEN and I"m 6'. I've dropped down to 205 . MY goal is 185 and lean/tone the fuck out. Not trying to go over board, just trying to tone up like I used too be. Ever since the birth of my 2nd child man I've fucking slacked off, lost my abs. Still got the immaculate roman warrior chiseled chest and arms but the abs are wayyyyy gone LOL. Good shit tho. I know we've had this conversation before but what's good with competing? You going to do it or nah? A lot of money in that shit bro and exposure... Especially if you win shit, I know Olympia magazine gave my mans a contract and he makes a good chunk of change off of modeling for their magazine and shit... Getting paid for doing what you love and have a passion for is awesome.

yea competing in physique competitions is hard......I have no interest in it personally because as he said...maintaining body fat percentage under 5% is a nightmare. I only want to get down to about 10% ..at 10% my abs will be visible and i can maintain it easily without killing myself dieting. one of my boys competes in physique and he just does roids so he can be that lean but he still trains like an insane person and eats like a truck...personally none of that is appealing to me lol. though I do eat like a truck...currently eating 3500cals a day between 6meals.

an yea as far as abs some people swear abs are made in the kitchen (basically if u get skinny enough u will have abs) but I believe that only to a degree....if u work abs u can make them thicker so they will have deeper cuts when u do shred down to visible weight

as far as competing like I said I wont ever compete in physique but I am going to be competing in a powerlifting meet in Baltimore next year

yeah it happened playing football man. i fucked it up pretty bad and even now when i play it's swollen after. so tbh it's hard for me to train legs really consistently with football 3 days a week aaand an injury. i'll end up looking ridiculous though if i don't so i've made an effort to step it up.

yeah i definitely will hit u up. i started off at about 170 when i first started lifting consistently about a year and a half/2 years ago and today i weight 185. body shape has changed completely though with that gain.

right now im easing off and loosening my diet so i can enjoy christmas. it's usually really regimented and strict. my body fat was low as fuck this summer but i've put on a good bit

I've been boxing with this dude whose father trained the super light flyweight champion of the world (some shit like that i think it's like 105 lbs). Dude won the championship for that weight division recently at MSG. Just learned how to do that crossing arms shit while jumping rope and I have a devastating uppercut and been fiending on expertboxing channel on youtube. Solid month so far. He said it takes 2 years of 5x/week 2 hours a day to get to pro conditioning and reflexes. I probably can't take BB yet but give me 6 months...and I'll body the shit out of him. My is left hook is devastating as fuck...learning tricks and shit...and I look smooth as shit shadow boxing with 5 lbs dumbbells...

Now Maybe 2 to 3 times a week.

I'm always down to spar. Shit is fun.

Have you sparred yet? If not, begin to do so. Gain a lot of experience and will help you become a successful sparring partner. Exposes your weaknesses and strengths with in each spar.

One of my weaknesses is my composure. I get overly aggressive on the offense rather then remaining composed and reading my opponent. A lot of that has to do with my being overly confident with my power and hand speed, tho. SO lately I've been working a lot on defensive counter striking/fighting techniques.

Sparring helps a lot. Sometimes sparring with someone who sucks can damage you, tho because they are just going in there and swinging to punch your head off of your shoulders rather then work on strategy.

Boxing is the physical form of the game chess.

Still getting the timing down i gotta go to a real boxing gym so i can spar more people. my coach like 5 inches shorter and 20ish lbs lighter than me so i i think i need to battle bigger ppl since im 6'0 190-200...

I'm naturally athletic and idgaf about being a world champ but my goal is to train hard and be nice as fuck in 1 yr

Lol at rookie fake hooks. So readable, bro. Stray away from faking hooks, they are predictable and often lead you rite in to a counter.

Faint instead. Keeps your arms and elbows defending the body on a shorter return rather then the fake hook and open/expose the body but do you bro. w/e works for you is what matters.

I would agree with sparring more often and others aside from your coach.

faking a hook... is a feint btw eh....

anyway feints with the left and the straight right are signature moves by many fighterss... it isn't bad or it isn't new, the problem with this though is the projection, hooks are usually powerhouse punches that can be released quick but are usually meant for damage, not speed, like a jab or a straight right, they're meant to either land or open up pockets in the opponents defense... hense why the FEINT is effective if used right... saying you're faking a hook is the same shit as a feint just not correct terminology, second shadowboxing with weight isn't necessarily bad but bad technique can lead to bad shoulders/elbows, which is why it's generally a rule of thumb, to shadowbox with weights when you have decent form and you definitely, should never be tired when you do this as it will definitely build bad habits and techniques. contrary to belief, no it doesn't make you faster and thinking you are isn't good as the main point of shadowboxing isn't to become faster it's to improve form, anything else, strength, power, speed should and will always be second to form when shadowboxing, if anything use resistance bands opposed to weights, though weights are just as effective, i just think it improves technique, especially if you don't have world champion boxers correcting your every move, which none of you do. lastly i don't care 2 hold a netcees crown as the best at something and i could care less about competitive advances unless it's chess which i just realized idc about either or anything ever. fuck off. also 5x 2 hours whatever will just get you to a good condition (hopefully>and any person or trainer or friend of a trainer that thinks they know the exact regimen of any profesional trainer or boxer is intensely naive. also as a warmup i'd run 8 miles regularly before and after workouts and would clock under 30 second sprints over the course of an hour and would jump rope that too and i trained with bobbing bob mcmanus súper trainer from fuckstate box clinic.

anyway feints with the left and the straight right are signature moves by many fighterss... it isn't bad or it isn't new, the problem with this though is the projection, hooks are usually powerhouse punches that can be released quick but are usually meant for damage, not speed, like a jab or a straight right, they're meant to either land or open up pockets in the opponents defense... hense why the FEINT is effective if used right... saying you're faking a hook is the same shit as a feint just not correct terminology, second shadowboxing with weight isn't necessarily bad but bad technique can lead to bad shoulders/elbows, which is why it's generally a rule of thumb, to shadowbox with weights when you have decent form and you definitely, should never be tired when you do this as it will definitely build bad habits and techniques. contrary to belief, no it doesn't make you faster and thinking you are isn't good as the main point of shadowboxing isn't to become faster it's to improve form, anything else, strength, power, speed should and will always be second to form when shadowboxing, if anything use resistance bands opposed to weights, though weights are just as effective, i just think it improves technique, especially if you don't have world champion boxers correcting your every move, which none of you do. lastly i don't care 2 hold a netcees crown as the best at something and i could care less about competitive advances unless it's chess which i just realized idc about either or anything ever. fuck off. also 5x 2 hours whatever will just get you to a good condition (hopefully>and any person or trainer or friend of a trainer that thinks they know the exact regimen of any profesional trainer or boxer is intensely naive. also as a warmup i'd run 8 miles regularly before and after workouts and would clock under 30 second sprints over the course of an hour and would jump rope that too and i trained with bobbing bob mcmanus súper trainer from fuckstate box clinic.

I assumed when he meant faking the hook - he throws the shoulder with half extended reach - you know - one of those that people whom are just beginning to box do which exposes their entire mid section left or right depending which side they are faking.

But yea.. your post is pretty much spot on but missed the over hand jabs are neat as well. I prefer those over straight any day. Much better when trying to execute uppercut combinations.
