Intro
Ooo yeaaa. Last week I should have officially named “The Week of the Slaughter”, as I intentionally set up battles to be one sided to get the good heads up the rankings, and it turned out to work really well. A lot of battles ended up being 7-0, 8-0, even 13-0 in one case. So yea, things worked out well. Everythings looking tight. The leagues bumpin nicely.

Only 2 heads dropped in this which was pretty disappointing. I’m not sure why no one’s really dropping in this; it’s the only way to get a loss removed. Battle Reviews
WBL Championship Match: 1. Resin M-I-C (5-0) vs 2. Sound (10-3) vs 3. Urban Legend (8-2)
Resin no-showed which was pretty disappointin, coulda had Resin-Frac part 3 next week, but oh well, we'll save it for the next special event;). Urban dropped first and he came ok. Had a black male bar that was funny ‘n fresh, but he sorta ruined it by putting the word black in the setup, made it hit less to me. Main stream bar was a nicely worded flip on a pretty old concept. Sound dropped cool. His save face bar was hilarious, and I also thought the cats and dogs bar was really funny as well. He came pretty consistently as well, good verse overall. Sound took it by a couple of votes to become the new, and 6th ever, WBL champion. Mad props to Sound.
WBL Contendership Match: 4. Fracture (7-1) vs 5. Vaskez (5-1)
Pretty good battle here. Vaskez dropped first and he dropped decent. He had a temple bar that was sick, ‘n I liked the hard to choose bar. The rest I wasn’t really feelin, ‘n he had some played stuff like the rim bar, and a line that Spit used better last week in the Raps Murderer bar. Decent verse overall. Fracture started off slow but then hit with a couple of haymakers. The panties bar was really funny, and the shotgun bar was fuckin dope. Really nice bar. Frac took this by a lot, due to having better stand out lines.
6. Mets (6-2) vs 7. Prosecutor (6-2)
Mets won via no-show.
8. Confirm Password (3-1) vs 9. Justify (4-0)
Justify won via no-show.
10. Mercules (10-4) vs 11. Mr Marvellous (3-2)
Merc took this by a lot. Marvellous dropped and his verse was ok, he had a weird opener though. Urban Legend had nothing to do with Merc winning the title? Bad bit of research there. His verse was ok, nothing special though. Merc dropped better. He came pretty consistent. Half-ass bar hit nicely. Merc took it.
12. The Gunslinger (3-0) vs 13. TEF (3-0)
I wasn’t feelin this battle all that much. TEF dropped first and his verse was pretty bad. It was worded so that it didn’t work, had those typa concepts as well. Gunslinger came better. He was more solid and polished in regards to wording and concepts. Gunslinger took it.
14. N.Tavarez (5-2) vs 15. Kapernikus (5-4)
Another onsided battle. Tavarez took this pretty easy. Kapernikus dropped aight, he had some decent concepts, but his wording is still ass. It’s just so weak ‘n.. dancey lmao. That’s the way I’d describe his wording, dancey. It dances about the concept instead of jus directly going for it. Tavarez had a cool wording bar. Some other decent bars as well, consistent overall. Tavarez took it.
16. $pitacular (6-3) vs 17. Bayou (3-0) vs 18. Wordz AhGod (2-1)
Wordz got disqualified straight off the bat. He posted a no-show verse, then Bayou AND $pit ended up showing. A vote came in. And he edited his real verse in. So yea, he got DQ’ed for those 2 things. Bayou came kinda simple, nothing in his verse really stood out much. Spit dropped solid, he had some decent lines. Postage bar was cool. Spit took it easy.
19. Mark Blaze (4-2) vs 20. kungfugrip (1-0)
kungufugrip won via no-show.

Iono if Alamo’s not motivated or what, but he’s not droppin the nice creative stuff he once was. He seems to be bored or whatever, it’s like he just types up some stuff quick. Iono. Styk came more creative. Home wrecker bar was aight. Pretty close, but styk edged it and took it by a lot of votes.
27. ill nik-A (1-0) vs 28. RCG Tiburon (2-2)
Onesided. RCG didn’t really have anything notable. Nothing stood out. Ill nik-A dropped better. His verse as a whole was pretty consistent. More than enough to take the win here. Nik-a took it.
29. Nique (2-1) vs 30. V. Vega (2-2)
Kinda onesided. Nique dropped aight. Pretty solid verse overall. Nothing outstanding, but nothing awful either. Vega dropped worse, his verse wasn’t great. Club bumpin line was funny though. Nique was just more solid, and she took it.
31. John Hensley (1-0) vs 32. Mariah (1-1)
Mariah used the 3 most played nameplays on Hensley in a row, then followed it up with a homeless bar. The nameplays were all used in ways that have been used exactly the same before, so they weren’t even fresh nameplays. Hensley came cool. He had a hike bar that was good and a hips don’t lie bar that was cool. Decent verse overall. Hensley got it easy.
33. Young Philly (0-0) vs 34. casper (1-1)
casper won via no-show.
35. J. SutherLand (1-0) vs 36. HotDogVendorMan (2-2)
“I'm brash like lashins from a belt, youre ass is jus passin as smelled” – lmao HotDog, wtf kinda setup was that, ahaha. This battle was very strange, because the style of both of these dudes is very similar. The way they word their punchlines I mean. They both even used exclamation marks at the end of their bars. Personally, I wasn’t feelin this battle much. Quite a lot of people liked it, but I jus can’t get down with that typa style. At first this looked like it was gonna be close, it was 4-4. Then HotDog ran ahead and took it 12 votes to 5.

Impregnable is Intricate, who is a biter. So he got banned and dog tags picked up the easy DQ win.

Pretty decent battle. Seemed quick from both sides, apparently Meta keyed his verse so that was a good verse for a key. Butler didn’t seem to take too long over it either. Still, some creative stuff from both sides. Meta had a blanket hog line that was cool, I was feelin that. Silhouette bar was decent as well. Butler dropped some hot stuff. Plastic bar was creative as hell, and the slump bar was nice as well. I think butler had the better quotables, ‘n for that, he took this.
43. David Lama (0-0) vs 44. Ancel (0-0)
Slaughter. Ancels verse was very bland. Every single concept used the same sort of style. He also used some played stuff like a DL bar which is pretty stupid to use, as it’s been used at least 8000 times on Lama. I wasn’t feelin his verse much. Lama dropped decent. His opener was funny, a simple clowning punch that hit nicely. Cel bar was decent. The rest was ok. Lama won by a lot.
45. Phil Benjamin (0-0) vs 46. low76 (0-0)
Phil Benjamin won via no-show.
47. Apex (0-0) vs 48. Sonny Reddz (0-0)
Weak battle. Apex is using some pretty old ‘n bland stuff. Things like the plaque bar. He also had some complete misses, like the pedicure bar, that’s just not a hard concept. Sonny Reddz just came way too simple and played, his verse was really dull. Yea, simple sums it up really. Apex was a bit more creative and he took it by a lot.
49. Syllable (0-0) vs 50. Oblivion (0-0)
Syllable was pretty decent last time he was in the league, he dropped some coolish stuff. His style is pretty polished. I dunno Oblivion. So Syllable to win.
51. grams (0-0) vs 52. Wise (0-0)
Close battle. Wasn't feelin most of it. Wise didn't drop great, had a lot of simple stuff, along with some played bars. Lama's thread bar was decent though. grams didn't drop very good either. His jew bar was a good concept, but it wasn't worded great. Wise woulda took it cos his quotable was stronger, but he only voted on 3 so he got a vote deducted. And as it was 3-3 at the end of the battle, grams won. If you’re gonna moan Wise, please save it.

Predictions
WBL Championship Match: 1. Sound (11-3) vs 2. Fracture (8-1)
This should be pretty hot. Sound’s been dropping some nice stuff for a good minute now, so Fracture shouldn’t sleep on him. Fracture always manages to have some super mega unbelievable amazing punch thrown into every verse, and that usually gives him the edge in battles. I think Fracture will take it, but I think Sound will make it a good battle.
WBL Contendership Match: 3. Mets (7-2) vs 4. Justify (5-0)
Justify’s done really well in the league so far. Usually when coming over from another site it takes a little while to adjust, but he’s got to the contendership match in his first run. Mets shouldn’t take him lightly. Mets got the easy no-show win last week to get here, and I think he’s gonna drop a cool verse in this battle. He didn’t drop great against Storm-G, but I think he pretty much keyed that verse after seeing Storms verse. I’ve got Mets winning this one.
5. Mercules (11-4) vs 6. The Gunslinger (4-0)
Gunslinger is another dude who’s done well in the league after coming from another site. His verse last week wasn’t all that though, I wasn’t feelin it much. Merc dropped quite solid last week, enough to win no doubt. If Merc sleeps on Gunslinger he could be surprised, but I’ve still got Mercules winning.
7. N.Tavarez (6-2) vs 8. $pitacular (7-3)
This is a rematch from their battle a couple of weeks ago. RapVerse vs RapBattles Part 2, if you will. Tavarez seems to be motivated about this battle, so $pit shouldn’t take it lightly. I think Spit will win, but it could also go the either way. Close battle no doubt.
9. Urban Legend (8-3) vs 10. F5TH Dawg (6-1)
F5TH’s hopped so far up the rankings due to him wanting to combine his record, as he didn’t state whether he wanted to keep his old record or not when he signed up, he started off at 0-0 and with a low rank. Now he’s combined it and he’s jumped up the rankings. Urban got out punched last week against Sound; he had some decent stuff but not enough. F5TH usually drops creative and consistent, so I’ve got him taking it.
11. Te Ora (5-1) vs 12. kungfugrip (2-0)
This should be a nice battle if Te Ora writes to his ability. He lost to J. SutherLand in a battle that he really shouldn’t have lost, and I expected him to win it by a lot. His wordings tight, his styles tight, he just needs to up his concepts. Kung is a well renowned head, who recently people have been saying is underrated. He needs to have a long run in a league with a lot of wins and some classic battles to really get his name out there, and this is the perfect time to do it. I’m not saying that dudes don’t know who he is, or think he ain’t great, I’m just saying that he needs to really prove how tight he is in this league. I’ve got kung taking this in a nice battle.
13. ill nik-A (2-0) vs 14. styk figer (3-1)
styk edged past Alamo last week, where as ill nik-A took an eaaasy win. Nik-A’s been dropping some cool stuff, and I expect him to keep it up here. Styk will have to drop the best verse he’s ever dropped in the WBL to stand a chance, but I just see nik-A being too much for him and taking the win.
15. Spit That (2-0) vs 16. Nique (3-1)
This has the potential to be really good as well. Both are tight heads who have won titles and graced leagues with niceness, at sites all over. They’re both viewed as being nice battlers and this should be a cool battle. Spit may not try or show though, and I think that will be his downfall, allowing Nique to take the win.
17. John Hensley (2-0) vs 18. casper (2-1)
MURDA MOFO! Yea, this is gonna be a slaughter really. Casper is aight, but he’s no way near John Hensley’s level. Hensley should take it by a lot.
19. HotDogVendorMan (3-2) vs 20. Area51 (1-1)
Area is ok, but I think HotDog is generally viewed as better. This could be a decent battle if both drop to their potential, but I’ve got HDVM taking it here.
21. dog tags (1-1) vs 22. butler (1-0)
I can imagine dog tags pussin out and being overawed by facing butler, he has a tendency to do that I think. Expect butler to take this by a lot.
23. David Lama (1-0) vs 24. Out Writechas (2-1)
Lama dropped a pretty decent verse last week, and he dropped a good verse in the battle arena against Rhymeageddon. I don’t think he’s too rusty so he should be alright. Out Writechas is good but tends to be inconsistent. Lama to take it.
25. Phil Benjamin (1-0) vs 26. Mr Marvellous (3-3)
Both these battlers have got quite a lot of potential, so this could be a pretty interesting match up. Phil has a cool style and often uses some cool concepts, but his wording is often too minimal. Mr Marvellous just needs to polish up a few things and then he should be pretty nice. I’ve got Marvellous taking this.
27. TEF (3-1) vs 28. Apex (1-0)
Apex is alright, but he’s still adjusting after being over at RapBattles for a while. He’s told me that the competition here is so much more than over at RapBattles in the LLL, and it’s taking him a while to get used to it. He’s getting a lot better every week though, so he should be aight. TEF is decent, but he often has strange wording ‘n concepts. Could be a close one, but I’ll give TEF the edge due to experience.
29. Ace Heratoga (1-0) vs 30. Kapernikus (5-5)
Kapernikus is another who’s improving weekly. His wording is still pretty horrible though and that’s whats holding him back. Ace is a cool head who’s taken a hiatus from text recently to focus on audio. He was getting good back when I was running the LBL though, and talent doesn’t just disappear. Give him a few weeks and he should be nice again. For now, I see him having the wording and experience edge over Kapernikus. So Ace to win.
31. Bayou (3-1) vs 32. grams (1-0)
Pretty close battle here. Both are decent, but both also need a bit of fine tuning in every aspect. They have potential no doubt, but they just need a little bit of work to become good. Grams is a bit too inconsistent for my liking though, so I’ve got Bayou taking it.
33. Spek (1-0) vs 34. J. SutherLand (1-1)
Sutherland surprised everyone when he beat Te Ora in the special event, and it looked like he might beat HotDog last week, but then HDVM ran ahead in the votes. It was a close battle though, and he’s doing pretty well. Getting a lot of props etc. Spek dropped a no-show verse so I dunno what he’s like. Sutherland to win.
35. RCG Tiburon (2-3) vs 36. Mariah (1-2)
RCG’s not all that, he’s improving very very slowly. Mariah screwed up last week by using the 3 most played nameplays EVER, and that really cost her. She’s not bad, just has a tendency to use very played stuff. Mariah is more polished though, so she should get it.
37. V. Vega (2-3) vs 38. Meta Syn (0-1)
I’m not sure if Meta Syn is gonna show up here, but I hope he does as he’s a cool head. Vega is aight, but he’s not as good as Meta. So Syn to win.
39. Ancel (0-1) vs 40. Wise (0-1)
Wise was unlucky to lose last week due to not voting on 1 battle. That cost him badly, as I would have voted for him and he’d have got the win. Ancel got flawlessed by Lama in the quickest WBL battle to ever get closed. Wise should take it, but it could be close.
41. Sonny Reddz (0-1) vs 42. muddy walkers (0-0)
I dunno who muddy walkers is, so Sonny Reddz to win is the safe bet.
43. Automatic (0-0) vs 44. Dont Ask (0-0)
Automatic is a RapBattles head who got to the final of a season not so long ago. He’s recently come back and not been droppin as good as he was then, so I’ll be interested to see how he does here. Butler: well.. i haven't been payin much attention, so i don't know who's been doin wat. But i did notice that a buncha heads signed in same week I did so that'll certainly boost the comp... and in turn, start producin' some new, nice battlers

Butler: now a'days, theres a serious lack of new talent. and i think its becuz all the "vets" just aren't as active as they use to be.

Butler: what happened recently, was doods like Rich, hens, classick, mets, me, lama, and whoever started droppin on these sites.. the effect was, it influenced us, and as a result influenced b-boys
Butler: unfortunately, like i was sayin b4... alot of these guys stopped writin, so the style on b-boys started becoming somewhat generic again... but now that some nice heads, from a variety of sites are back in the league, it'll help expose new doods to different techniques and styles

Butler: well.. I actually started fuckin around on b-boys in december of 2000 i think it was. 1st head i battle was Ohhla1... some noname guy who just fuckin sleighed me on all fronts. Then a guy named Ada had is textual way with me.. but like i was tellin u earlier, I started battlin' nonstop. 3-4 verses a day in the arena. Tournys. Leagues. all at once... just relentless. the hottest part about it was, at all times their was someone hungry to murder you for whatever text-respect gain they culd snatch... vicious business. U had PJK always talkin his retarted shit, but with a style that is so foreign to people today, yet beastly back then... the-whole-I-write-like-this-face... which EVERYONE, went through... then you had Rich and his storytelling style. T~r~e with the "how the fuck did he come up with that joke" shit... Tyson on the same page.

Ace Heratoga – Like I said earlier, he was getting really good in the LBL, then he sorta disappeared from text for a while. Hopefully he’ll stick around for a good minute and prove that he’s still tight.
David Lama – He doesn’t seem very rusty and that’s only a good thing. Should win his battle this week before moving up the rankings.
ill nik-A – He’s slowly but surely proving himself as a nice head, by consistently dropping cool verses. I want to see him in a big battle against a really nice head for him to fully show how good he is though.
N.Tavarez – Seems to be motivated for his battle with Spit, and he could take the win if he drops to his very highest ability.
Nique – Has a very interesting battle against Spit That this week, I don’t think they’ve battled before so it should be good. She’s the sensible choice to pick for the win as she’s more reliable, and she can also drop a lot of fire when she wants.
Spit That – He’s had some problems with no-showing and stuff in the past, but when he tries his hardest and shows up he’s most definitely a large threat. Dude’s nice with it, and he’ll have to show it against Nique this week.
Te Ora – Signed back in after a brief hiatus, and if he ups his concepts he could become a very good battler. He’s often compared to butler due to his grimy style, so if he gets his concepts on the level of butler then he’ll be legendary.
Top 10 Power Rankings
10. butler – Rushed his verse but still dropped some hella creative stuff. He seems to be motivated for this as you can see by the interview. Let’s just hope that nothing comes up and he has the time to write. If he has the time, then he’s gonna wreck a lot of heads.
9. John Hensley – He’ll move up the power ranks when he moves up the rankings, so expect to see him very high next week. Dropped a solid verse against Mariah and picked up the easy win. Should have an easy battle against casper this week also.
8. kungfugrip – Has had a relatively quiet and easy run to the 12th spot so far, he hasn’t made waves or anything really. That could change this week, as I expect him to drop a nice verse against Te Ora, if he doesn’t he could be stung, so I think he’ll rise to it and drop cool.
7. F5TH Dawg – He’s a nice head and he’s just made a huge jump up the rankings to the 10th spot. That’s an important jump, as he’s leapfrogged a lot of nice heads in the process. Is capable of getting to the champ match no doubt.
6. Mercules – Finally held the WBL title, albeit for a week. He’s shown that he can beat the top heads when he wants though, as he’s beat Butler, Hensley and Corey. All in 3 different leagues. Butler in the LBL, Hensley in the PRBA, and Corey in the WBL. All were also for titles. So he loves the big battles. Shouldn’t sleep on Gunslinger, but if he doesn’t then he’ll be in the contenders match.
5. $pitacular – He’s made a nice transition from RB to here, and he’s done well in the league so far. Is capable of beating Tavarez, as he’s shown in the past, so he should be moving up the rankings again.
4. Justify – He’s proven himself by dropping some nice verses in the league, but he has his biggest challenge yet when he faces Mets. I’m not sure how he’ll do, but he could very well win if he drops his best.
3. Mets – Multiple time WBL champion in the old league, and there’s no doubting he’s nice. On paper, he should beat Justify, so I see him being in the championship match next week.
2. Fracture – It’s Fracture. I run out of things to say about him, because it’s all been said before. Dude’s nice, and always drops the haymakers. There’s no doubting it. He should be champion next week.
1. Sound – He should enjoy this because I don’t see him being here after next week. He’s proved himself though by dropping some cool verses, but he’s facing Frac ya know, not many people come out of that with a win. Still, good to see him finally champ the league, as he’s dropped some cool stuff over the years. Will he be able to hang with Frac? We’ll have to wait ‘n see.

WBL Championship Match: 1. Resin M-I-C (5-0) vs 2. Sound (10-3) vs 3. Urban Legend (8-2)
Resin no-showed which was pretty disappointin, coulda had Resin-Frac part 3 next week, but oh well, we'll save it for the next special event;). Urban dropped first and he came ok. Had a black male bar that was funny ‘n fresh, but he sorta ruined it by putting the word black in the setup, made it hit less to me. Main stream bar was a nicely worded flip on a pretty old concept. Sound dropped cool. His save face bar was hilarious, and I also thought the cats and dogs bar was really funny as well. He came pretty consistently as well, good verse overall. Sound took it by a couple of votes to become the new, and 6th ever, WBL champion. Mad props to Sound.
WBL Contendership Match: 4. Fracture (7-1) vs 5. Vaskez (5-1)
Pretty good battle here. Vaskez dropped first and he dropped decent. He had a temple bar that was sick, ‘n I liked the hard to choose bar. The rest I wasn’t really feelin, ‘n he had some played stuff like the rim bar, and a line that Spit used better last week in the Raps Murderer bar. Decent verse overall. Fracture started off slow but then hit with a couple of haymakers. The panties bar was really funny, and the shotgun bar was fuckin dope. Really nice bar. Frac took this by a lot, due to having better stand out lines.
6. Mets (6-2) vs 7. Prosecutor (6-2)
Mets won via no-show.

I wasn’t feelin this battle all that much. TEF dropped first and his verse was pretty bad. It was worded so that it didn’t work, had those typa concepts as well. Gunslinger came better. He was more solid and polished in regards to wording and concepts. Gunslinger took it.

Bayou came kinda simple, nothing in his verse really stood out much. Spit dropped solid, he had some decent lines. Postage bar was cool. Spit took it easy.

Onesided. RCG didn’t really have anything notable. Nothing stood out. Ill nik-A dropped better. His verse as a whole was pretty consistent. More than enough to take the win here. Nik-a took it.

Kinda onesided. Nique dropped aight. Pretty solid verse overall. Nothing outstanding, but nothing awful either. Vega dropped worse, his verse wasn’t great. Club bumpin line was funny though. Nique was just more solid, and she took it.

Mariah used the 3 most played nameplays on Hensley in a row, then followed it up with a homeless bar. The nameplays were all used in ways that have been used exactly the same before, so they weren’t even fresh nameplays. Hensley came cool. He had a hike bar that was good and a hips don’t lie bar that was cool. Decent verse overall. Hensley got it easy.

Personally, I wasn’t feelin this battle much. Quite a lot of people liked it, but I jus can’t get down with that typa style. At first this looked like it was gonna be close, it was 4-4. Then HotDog ran ahead and took it 12 votes to 5.

Plastic bar was creative as hell, and the slump bar was nice as well. I think butler had the better quotables, ‘n for that, he took this.

Slaughter. Ancels verse was very bland. Every single concept used the same sort of style. He also used some played stuff like a DL bar which is pretty stupid to use, as it’s been used at least 8000 times on Lama. I wasn’t feelin his verse much. Lama dropped decent. His opener was funny, a simple clowning punch that hit nicely. Cel bar was decent. The rest was ok. Lama won by a lot.

Sonny Reddz just came way too simple and played, his verse was really dull. Yea, simple sums it up really. Apex was a bit more creative and he took it by a lot.

Syllable was pretty decent last time he was in the league, he dropped some coolish stuff. His style is pretty polished. I dunno Oblivion. So Syllable to win.

Close battle. Wasn't feelin most of it. Wise didn't drop great, had a lot of simple stuff, along with some played bars. Lama's thread bar was decent though. grams didn't drop very good either. His jew bar was a good concept, but it wasn't worded great. Wise woulda took it cos his quotable was stronger, but he only voted on 3 so he got a vote deducted. And as it was 3-3 at the end of the battle, grams won. If you’re gonna moan Wise, please save it.

WBL Championship Match: 1. Sound (11-3) vs 2. Fracture (8-1)
This should be pretty hot. Sound’s been dropping some nice stuff for a good minute now, so Fracture shouldn’t sleep on him. Fracture always manages to have some super mega unbelievable amazing punch thrown into every verse, and that usually gives him the edge in battles. I think Fracture will take it, but I think Sound will make it a good battle.
WBL Contendership Match: 3. Mets (7-2) vs 4. Justify (5-0)
Justify’s done really well in the league so far. Usually when coming over from another site it takes a little while to adjust, but he’s got to the contendership match in his first run. Mets shouldn’t take him lightly. Mets got the easy no-show win last week to get here, and I think he’s gonna drop a cool verse in this battle. He didn’t drop great against Storm-G, but I think he pretty much keyed that verse after seeing Storms verse. I’ve got Mets winning this one.
5. Mercules (11-4) vs 6. The Gunslinger (4-0)
Gunslinger is another dude who’s done well in the league after coming from another site. His verse last week wasn’t all that though, I wasn’t feelin it much. Merc dropped quite solid last week, enough to win no doubt. If Merc sleeps on Gunslinger he could be surprised, but I’ve still got Mercules winning.
7. N.Tavarez (6-2) vs 8. $pitacular (7-3)
This is a rematch from their battle a couple of weeks ago. RapVerse vs RapBattles Part 2, if you will. Tavarez seems to be motivated about this battle, so $pit shouldn’t take it lightly. I think Spit will win, but it could also go the either way. Close battle no doubt.
9. Urban Legend (8-3) vs 10. F5TH Dawg (6-1)
F5TH’s hopped so far up the rankings due to him wanting to combine his record, as he didn’t state whether he wanted to keep his old record or not when he signed up, he started off at 0-0 and with a low rank. Now he’s combined it and he’s jumped up the rankings. Urban got out punched last week against Sound; he had some decent stuff but not enough. F5TH usually drops creative and consistent, so I’ve got him taking it.
11. Te Ora (5-1) vs 12. kungfugrip (2-0)
This should be a nice battle if Te Ora writes to his ability. He lost to J. SutherLand in a battle that he really shouldn’t have lost, and I expected him to win it by a lot. His wordings tight, his styles tight, he just needs to up his concepts. Kung is a well renowned head, who recently people have been saying is underrated. He needs to have a long run in a league with a lot of wins and some classic battles to really get his name out there, and this is the perfect time to do it. I’m not saying that dudes don’t know who he is, or think he ain’t great, I’m just saying that he needs to really prove how tight he is in this league. I’ve got kung taking this in a nice battle.
13. ill nik-A (2-0) vs 14. styk figer (3-1)
styk edged past Alamo last week, where as ill nik-A took an eaaasy win. Nik-A’s been dropping some cool stuff, and I expect him to keep it up here. Styk will have to drop the best verse he’s ever dropped in the WBL to stand a chance, but I just see nik-A being too much for him and taking the win.
15. Spit That (2-0) vs 16. Nique (3-1)
This has the potential to be really good as well. Both are tight heads who have won titles and graced leagues with niceness, at sites all over. They’re both viewed as being nice battlers and this should be a cool battle. Spit may not try or show though, and I think that will be his downfall, allowing Nique to take the win.
17. John Hensley (2-0) vs 18. casper (2-1)
MURDA MOFO! Yea, this is gonna be a slaughter really. Casper is aight, but he’s no way near John Hensley’s level. Hensley should take it by a lot.

Area is ok, but I think HotDog is generally viewed as better. This could be a decent battle if both drop to their potential, but I’ve got HDVM taking it here.

I can imagine dog tags pussin out and being overawed by facing butler, he has a tendency to do that I think. Expect butler to take this by a lot.

Lama dropped a pretty decent verse last week, and he dropped a good verse in the battle arena against Rhymeageddon. I don’t think he’s too rusty so he should be alright. Out Writechas is good but tends to be inconsistent. Lama to take it.
25. Phil Benjamin (1-0) vs 26. Mr Marvellous (3-3)
Both these battlers have got quite a lot of potential, so this could be a pretty interesting match up. Phil has a cool style and often uses some cool concepts, but his wording is often too minimal. Mr Marvellous just needs to polish up a few things and then he should be pretty nice. I’ve got Marvellous taking this.
27. TEF (3-1) vs 28. Apex (1-0)
Apex is alright, but he’s still adjusting after being over at RapBattles for a while. He’s told me that the competition here is so much more than over at RapBattles in the LLL, and it’s taking him a while to get used to it. He’s getting a lot better every week though, so he should be aight. TEF is decent, but he often has strange wording ‘n concepts. Could be a close one, but I’ll give TEF the edge due to experience.
29. Ace Heratoga (1-0) vs 30. Kapernikus (5-5)
Kapernikus is another who’s improving weekly. His wording is still pretty horrible though and that’s whats holding him back. Ace is a cool head who’s taken a hiatus from text recently to focus on audio. He was getting good back when I was running the LBL though, and talent doesn’t just disappear. Give him a few weeks and he should be nice again. For now, I see him having the wording and experience edge over Kapernikus. So Ace to win.
31. Bayou (3-1) vs 32. grams (1-0)
Pretty close battle here. Both are decent, but both also need a bit of fine tuning in every aspect. They have potential no doubt, but they just need a little bit of work to become good. Grams is a bit too inconsistent for my liking though, so I’ve got Bayou taking it.
33. Spek (1-0) vs 34. J. SutherLand (1-1)
Sutherland surprised everyone when he beat Te Ora in the special event, and it looked like he might beat HotDog last week, but then HDVM ran ahead in the votes. It was a close battle though, and he’s doing pretty well. Getting a lot of props etc. Spek dropped a no-show verse so I dunno what he’s like. Sutherland to win.
35. RCG Tiburon (2-3) vs 36. Mariah (1-2)
RCG’s not all that, he’s improving very very slowly. Mariah screwed up last week by using the 3 most played nameplays EVER, and that really cost her. She’s not bad, just has a tendency to use very played stuff. Mariah is more polished though, so she should get it.

I’m not sure if Meta Syn is gonna show up here, but I hope he does as he’s a cool head. Vega is aight, but he’s not as good as Meta. So Syn to win.

I dunno who muddy walkers is, so Sonny Reddz to win is the safe bet.

Automatic is a RapBattles head who got to the final of a season not so long ago. He’s recently come back and not been droppin as good as he was then, so I’ll be interested to see how he does here. Don’t Ask is HUNGRY! And that’s only a good thing to have. Sometimes it borders on annoying, but he’s obviously very motivated to battle. Auto is more talented but if he sleeps on Don’t he could be surprised. Still, Auto to win.

? is a RapBattles head who recently champed the LLL, that’s not saying much though as it hasn’t been very good lately. Rhymeageddon was really rusty last time he was in the league, so I’m not sure how he’ll do here. ? is creative but his wording is absolutely terrible. Hard to pick a winner, I’m gonna go with Rhyme.

Butler: well.. i haven't been payin much attention, so i don't know who's been doin wat. But i did notice that a buncha heads signed in same week I did so that'll certainly boost the comp... and in turn, start producin' some new, nice battlers

Butler: now a'days, theres a serious lack of new talent. and i think its becuz all the "vets" just aren't as active as they use to be.

Butler: unfortunately, like i was sayin b4... alot of these guys stopped writin, so the style on b-boys started becoming somewhat generic again... but now that some nice heads, from a variety of sites are back in the league, it'll help expose new doods to different techniques and styles

Butler: well.. I actually started fuckin around on b-boys in december of 2000 i think it was. 1st head i battle was Ohhla1... some noname guy who just fuckin sleighed me on all fronts. Then a guy named Ada had is textual way with me.. but like i was tellin u earlier, I started battlin' nonstop. 3-4 verses a day in the arena. Tournys. Leagues. all at once... just relentless. the hottest part about it was, at all times their was someone hungry to murder you for whatever text-respect gain they culd snatch... vicious business. U had PJK always talkin his retarted shit, but with a style that is so foreign to people today, yet beastly back then... the-whole-I-write-like-this-face... which EVERYONE, went through... then you had Rich and his storytelling style. T~r~e with the "how the fuck did he come up with that joke" shit... Tyson on the same page.

Potentially Dope
Ace Heratoga – Like I said earlier, he was getting really good in the LBL, then he sorta disappeared from text for a while. Hopefully he’ll stick around for a good minute and prove that he’s still tight.
David Lama – He doesn’t seem very rusty and that’s only a good thing. Should win his battle this week before moving up the rankings.
ill nik-A – He’s slowly but surely proving himself as a nice head, by consistently dropping cool verses. I want to see him in a big battle against a really nice head for him to fully show how good he is though.
N.Tavarez – Seems to be motivated for his battle with Spit, and he could take the win if he drops to his very highest ability.
Nique – Has a very interesting battle against Spit That this week, I don’t think they’ve battled before so it should be good. She’s the sensible choice to pick for the win as she’s more reliable, and she can also drop a lot of fire when she wants.
Spit That – He’s had some problems with no-showing and stuff in the past, but when he tries his hardest and shows up he’s most definitely a large threat. Dude’s nice with it, and he’ll have to show it against Nique this week.
Te Ora – Signed back in after a brief hiatus, and if he ups his concepts he could become a very good battler. He’s often compared to butler due to his grimy style, so if he gets his concepts on the level of butler then he’ll be legendary.
Top 10 Power Rankings
10. butler – Rushed his verse but still dropped some hella creative stuff. He seems to be motivated for this as you can see by the interview. Let’s just hope that nothing comes up and he has the time to write. If he has the time, then he’s gonna wreck a lot of heads.
9. John Hensley – He’ll move up the power ranks when he moves up the rankings, so expect to see him very high next week. Dropped a solid verse against Mariah and picked up the easy win. Should have an easy battle against casper this week also.
8. kungfugrip – Has had a relatively quiet and easy run to the 12th spot so far, he hasn’t made waves or anything really. That could change this week, as I expect him to drop a nice verse against Te Ora, if he doesn’t he could be stung, so I think he’ll rise to it and drop cool.
7. F5TH Dawg – He’s a nice head and he’s just made a huge jump up the rankings to the 10th spot. That’s an important jump, as he’s leapfrogged a lot of nice heads in the process. Is capable of getting to the champ match no doubt.
6. Mercules – Finally held the WBL title, albeit for a week. He’s shown that he can beat the top heads when he wants though, as he’s beat Butler, Hensley and Corey. All in 3 different leagues. Butler in the LBL, Hensley in the PRBA, and Corey in the WBL. All were also for titles. So he loves the big battles. Shouldn’t sleep on Gunslinger, but if he doesn’t then he’ll be in the contenders match.
5. $pitacular – He’s made a nice transition from RB to here, and he’s done well in the league so far. Is capable of beating Tavarez, as he’s shown in the past, so he should be moving up the rankings again.
4. Justify – He’s proven himself by dropping some nice verses in the league, but he has his biggest challenge yet when he faces Mets. I’m not sure how he’ll do, but he could very well win if he drops his best.
3. Mets – Multiple time WBL champion in the old league, and there’s no doubting he’s nice. On paper, he should beat Justify, so I see him being in the championship match next week.
2. Fracture – It’s Fracture. I run out of things to say about him, because it’s all been said before. Dude’s nice, and always drops the haymakers. There’s no doubting it. He should be champion next week.
1. Sound – He should enjoy this because I don’t see him being here after next week. He’s proved himself though by dropping some cool verses, but he’s facing Frac ya know, not many people come out of that with a win. Still, good to see him finally champ the league, as he’s dropped some cool stuff over the years. Will he be able to hang with Frac? We’ll have to wait ‘n see.
