He is producing in the literal sense. Dont confuse it with him making all the beats, if any.

He has been gone a while. Had plenty of time to put effort into beats

Inno
04-24-2018, 09:25 PM
Wait. Is @uh oh saying ye don’t produce beats?

uh-oh
04-24-2018, 09:44 PM
he makes beats

its just 8 out of 10 beats (produced by kanye west) are made by his ghost producers.

pretty much "vintage kanye" was never kanye. i havent kept track of him though (like looking into production credits and shit) since like 808s and heartbreaks though so maybe why i don't like him now is because he's actually making the beats now lol

but yea im not hating, i had him in stupid high regard so when i found out basically all my favorite beats he did, he didn't make it was extra disappointment.

Geno
04-24-2018, 09:48 PM
Did he make the 808s beats? Loved that tape.possibly my favorite ye album between that and mbdtf
And mbdtf beats were unghhhh if that was all kanye then thats who i hope starts showing up again. Even the yeezus beats were dope imo. Wasnt a huge LOP fan tbh.

But i fucks wit yes swag

he for sure co-produced on those, alot of that album was jeff bhasker, no id and mike dean. im sure others as well i'd have to look into it again

the problem is the definition of produced, he is a producer. i think people confuse that with beatmaker though. a producer can make an entire beat or just be telling someone like yea, that basslines dope, maybe play an organ like this (mouths sounds) yea thats cool. he does alot of that as well. which is much more hands on

but he also just has people play shit for him, might tweak a sound and boom its produced by kanye west. they're lucky to get a writing credit.

i'd have to look into his later shit though, like i said i stopped paying attention cuz he got wack to me during that stage.

only shit i remember liking off 808's was heartless, which is retardedly dope.

He gets in a studio with a room full of producers. They start throwing melodies and shit out....he starts saying I want this drum to sound like a mermaid quiefing underwater....another producer says "say no more fam" and they go from there. That's how he's done it since the second album. Mike Dean plays every instrument under the moon, he's the real talent behind all this shit.

Nobody really understands that shit either. I'll try to explain the difference between Ye, Dre, and Timbaland and Primo. I'm like... "THEM MOTHER FUCKERS DON'T NEED NOBODY".

Primo been lacing a 4 bar loop for 3-4 minutes with no switch ups besides drums and cuts since 91. LMFAO Da gawd.

Meanwhile, Timbo can make any type of beat: east, west, southern, and do all the melodies himself. Plus dude can literally beat box the bass line and drums half the time like it's nothing. He's done R&B albums. Done rap records. He is literally the swiss army knife of producing, but NOBODY throws him in their top 5 producers. It's crazy to me.

Then look at RZA. That boy essentially spent the first 10 years of his production career making simple boom bap beats with eery strings and muddy ass sound quality and created gold. THEN he goes on to do film scores and starts making beats with symphonies and shit. Did a fucking rock album and shit.

Like... people don't recognize the difference between TRUE talent and just having a good ear. Dre and Kanye have great ears. They can put people in different positions to succeed.

Whereas, someone who can do everything on their own gets less recognition.

Crazy.

Can't argue the numbers tho. Dre and Kanye records sold >>>>>> timbo and primo.

Im real mad you called rza a boy. Hed smack the fuck outta you and i would be like.. Nah Rza -idk that nikka

About kanye, the thing that bothers me is that it needs to be clarified how much beat making he actually does. Cause if he makes the beats hes top 10 all time but if not it pushes him way back, top 30 or 50. This is a step away from ghostwriting.

Amen

That heartless beat was wild stupid. Song was ok at best but the beat was fireeeeeeeeeeee.
