that's how I am, but it takes me a while to find a beat that makes me want to write.

When I write w a beat
beat inspires topic which inspires hook which inspires writing
but sometimes I just write w a mental melody n syllables

for anything text i never use a beat.. if i'm writing for a beat to record to than yes, obv.

I've recently started using beats for most writing. At this point it's still half and half but I feel that after a point using a beat becomes the only way to progress, writing freely without one is easier to plateau at. This is my opinion on the current topic of discussion. You are free to have your own, you must simply live with the fact that it is probably wrong.
