Specific to music or otherwise

I'm trying to get out there as an individual musician, kind of blending the live recording band stuff I do with the freelance composing/teaching

It's a different animal from just booking a band, where a Facebook page with 500 likes is enough to get you into the average bar. I have a soundcloud, bandcamp, and Twitter, mostly just using the soundcloud as a portfolio for people wanting to hire me. I don't really use ig/fb because what I'm doing is less image-oriented/superficial, but I could probably use em. Any advice on platforms and how to use them?

Tryna have this in place when I'm done with a professionally done EP. Songs are about half finished, doing some tracking over the course of the next month but I'll be sure to share with you when it's done

IG might be where its at. twitter is good but slowly dying, which sucks.

i havent been on FB in years now so I don't know how good that would be, but instagram is good for snippets and shit. just make a quick graphic or snag an image or something and put up a 15 second clip of some music or something. i think they might do 60 seconds now i dunno im out of the loop

i only use twitter anymore but i don't do it in a networking way, although other artists absolutely do and check their mentions. as far as getting peoples attention and shit i dunno. i think the only thing collab wise would be with pretty low level people until your buzzing or got a decent following and can figure out a way to do it without sounding desperate

the blog era was the best era but i don't even know how people consume music now. but at least in the blog era people would pirate your work and help promote you lol
