Basically quit all the regular commercial gigs I do aside from the really well paying ones, but that's about a gig every other month and really started to focus on the ART

tbh I just have no other constructive way to process any emotions and don't know how to feel about making music without some kind of commercial element

so I share the highlights

enjoy, or dont

thnx

Enjoy it for yourself. Share it with others with similar tastes.

Didn't care for Sil, but Don't Think is dope and Room to Breathe isn't my cup of tea, but it's good.

Thanks for the listen. I earnestly appreciate you three cause of the gay feelings I'll throw into music at times.

First light I started hammered and haven't gotten hammered enough to finish it yet

Appreciate that input too, dull. I'm so awkward with this shit since I've almost never wrote/recorded something just to do it - it's always 'can I book this act somewhere' or 'who could I lisence/sell this track to' - so this is my idea of 'sharing'

In retrospect, I really should have just said 'appreciate a listen or feedback, hope you enjoy it' but this is growing for me I guess.

These were pleasant to my ears. Do you play any instruments?

Don't think i'll make it is fire, sounds like a video game back ground song.

I'm playing these through my studio monitors and they just sound like they need a lot of mixing. Drums are muddled as fuck. But they're good. I like the sounds, think some panning would help. Where I'm at is probably my favorite. I get that you like the Lofi drums, they just still need to be mixed so you can feel them and shit. But good shit.

Guitar and bass. You're hearing a baritone guitar (between guitar and bass) in room to breathe

appreciate the listen.

tbh, the reason why I'm going that angle is because it's my take on nostalgia/near escapism. I wanna evoke those feelings with heavily slowed down music so I think back on videogames from our childhood and play with that to create a certain comfort as a baseline for the track... its kind of what I need to hear right now, you know?

Being perfectly honest I thought I did mix them lol. Would you mind going into a little more detail to help me out? I purposely ran the drums through all a few filters to get this kind of sound, but they're perfectly good drum samples. Would you pan some drums left or right or what?

almost reminds me of Chon, you a fan?

I actually got back into guitar pretty heavily back at the start of 2018. My problem is that most of the music I enjoy isn't very guitar heavy, so most of my inspiration is basically instagram musicians...

I fuck with CHON, but I've never heard of the other guys. I'll def check them out. But I have the same problem where so much guitar driven shit just sucks to me, musically. Like, too much technique and not enough of a tune to engage the listener

That's why I'm trying to find a balance in what I write. It's annoying sometimes tbh

ah gotcha, the 'too much technique' bit sounds pretty applicable to people I like... Mateus Asato etc

but I'm still at the point in my own playing where learning new material is still challenging in and of itself, not well-versed in theory etc. so i'm just really enjoying improving

I only know of a few tracks from him, but he's kind of like what I want to do - there's plenty of technique, but there's a clear sense of melody/harmony there so you're not just listening to technique

And if you play you know theory, it's just vocab. Don't let those UG cucks who took high school theory tell you otherwise
