I've said it as a joke for years, but i literally cannot tell a Journey song from Foreigner. They are the exact same band to me. Any way to really separate these bands as their own sound? Because i can't tell.

Yeah, the lead singer
Steve Perry shits on Lou Gramm
I know this because I had to look up Lou Gramm but I did not have to look up Steve Perry

I would say journey plays to the characteristics of rock and pop more effectively. They have more earworms/hits and I think it's because they found a better balance for the sake of marketing/staying power (compared to something like jukebox hero, which is heavily rock-ish or hot blooded, which is total pop)

Journey has an entire album of hits.

They really don't.

Nobody would mistake Jukebox Hero for a Journey song.

Anyone who's a fan of that type of music will know the difference.

Probably the same people that will think Godsmack and Disturbed sound the same.

nas and your old droog is like bronson and ghostface. entirely different artists just somewhat similair sonically like their vocal tones

but word

also cold as ice is a banger. i always viewed journey as like a chick band, but again they are both on the periphery of my musical knowledge. i couldn't name a foreigner song

im sure there are countless i've heard though.

so I made a foreigner and a journey channel on spotify last nite and I suppose they do not sound very much alike for the most part....although some songs could be confused

I will say that foreigner banged way harder..... lost site of my gender identity about 12min into the journey channel.
