View Full Version : ALBUM OF THE YEAR?
It’s been a dope year for hip hop. A lot of outstanding projects dropped in 2018. I’ve never had so many new albums to bump to lol
But you what’s your album of the year?
For me, I’m leaning towards VICTORY LAP by NIPSEY HUSSLE. Dudes come a long way from hussle in the house.
What’s your choice for 2018....discuss

Good choice. I don’t listen to entire albums so I can’t comment however I do want to say Nipsey is getting too old to be acting like a violent criminal.

Meek went from negative all the way back to high positive off one album strong showing also
I probably liked Jay Rock - Redemption the most, Astroworld is a good choice because it catapulted Travis into true worldwide superstardom.

Jay rock underground album of the year
I say underground as in less then high profile mainstream
Daytona was flex of the year for a 7 track that included the demise of drake in its rollout

Travis is great value kanye but he has time and money on his side to be truly great. Astroworld was solid.

I agree with this. I do think Daytona is mad overrated though. Haven’t replayed it in a long time. Di Caprio 2 is a solid entry too.

Same. Daytona was on the playlist the week it came out. Hasn't been since.
New Meek shit is on heavy rotation, tho.

Meek...Philly stay winning. Mad others tho. Nipsey, J.Rock, Astroworld, KOD, ...oh yeah this is the Carter so hold on to your teenage daughter this is the Carter......
Witty

It's either Carter 5 or Dime Trap.
Kamikaze was great, I loved it. But it was a flashback to the old Eminem. In regards to music released in 2018 for 2018...for me it was one of those two.

And this is an album of the year thread

Masta Ace-A Breukelen Story
Eminem-Kamikaze
Logic-Bobby Tarantino II
Royce the 5'9"-Book Of Ryan

Bro, who you telling...the album is pure dedication to mastery. I usually skip dude and love em on features but was never really a fan of his albums, then one of my guys told me to peep game and I was struck. Ortiz went all in and gave it his all, to truly appreciate any of these albums I listed you need to listen from front to back.

Also finally got around to checking Saba's "Care For Me" this weekend.
It's incredible. Raw as hell.
Listening to Smino's "Noir" right now. Pretty solid so far, too.
