so i got the 2080ti yesterday from fedex finally, and i realized all i had installed was witcher 3.

whats some shit i should get to push this fucker. it came with anthem and battlefield v for free. which i have less than 0 interest in. but im gonna dl battlefield v just to see what this ray tracing is about and how pretty it is

but word im getting a solid 60 fps at 4k with everything cranked in the witcher, post processing and everything. im not sure if i even like it. it almost made it look more fake. like it needs SOME type of blur lol. everything is too sharp and clear

but word. any ideas what i should fuck with

i wanna re-dl some total wars, but i read it doesn't really help since those games are more CPU intensive than graphically intensive. like you only get like 10 extra fps.

I give a little of everything a shot. Ive got both warhammers but didnt like them cuz the fantasy shit, but i'll recheck those maybe at 4k and see how they look and run. And thrones of brittania since thats the newest historical release while i wait on three kingdoms.

I think the truest test will be fallout 4 vr modded. All the texture mods and hd shit trying to run in VR might push it to the limit

im trying to figure out how to run both cards in daz3d, but the 980 isn't showing up in my system anymore since i put it in the second slot. i only have an 800 watt power supply, i assume its enough?

im trying to make these porn games thooo. so i'm trying to use the 980ti for interactive views/monitor related stuff and just using the 2080 ti as the workhorse for rendering/animations and such. but i dont know if my motherboard will do it. i know it doesn't support sli, but maybe it doesn't support dual anything? doesn't make sense to have the extra pcie or whatever port though.

but yo i'll sell it to one of you guys if i can't figure it out this weekend for the low, like a hundo. otherwise ima just ebay it probably try and get 300 for it

its the msi 980 ti 6gb. it will run basically everything pretty much with all settings up at 1080. turn some settings down and get 1440 and it works for VR but gets MOVING. im too dumb to know how to check heat and shit but my tower becomes a makeshift space heater when i was playing VR games with it.

i mainly got the 2080 ti to futureproof myself for games for awhile, and the 11gb of vram for rendering etc. when the software im using for the porn game shit updates for ray tracing i should be banging shit out ridiculously fast

i'm not sure if somethings wrong with this 2080? it says my drivers are up to date, but all of that shit should work?

i haven't tried any VR with it yet, i don't have shit downloaded. i deleted the witcher and a bunch of shit to download some games this weekend. i grabbed battlefield V since i had the free d/l and booted it up, it went straight to story mode or whatever and looked great but i noticed i had no ray tracing or whatever happening in the reflections. i looked at the settings and everything was on, but i couldn't turn on nvidia DLSS or whatever which i think is ray tracing? it wouldn't let me click it over. it was at 4k with everything maxed

its also acting super goofy in that daz3d program, but its only supported in the beta version at the moment, so i can't tell if its the card, or the software wonking out

i gotta look into all this more. might just send this shit back i dunno yet if i got it working right. all i did was unplug the 980ti and plug in the 2080ti. had the 980 in the second slot but took it out thinking maybe that was the culprit but still nothing

i also had this pc made/assembled by ibuypower back when the 980ti was brand new in like 2015ish? so this is my first time plugging something into it outside of a hard drive so i dunno what im doing. thought shit just plugged in lol.

Uninstall all nvdia stuff, you can use the hdmi from the motherboard for the time you’re doing this. Reinstall everything going specifically through the 2080ti spec page/driver downloads.

turns out i finally have to upgrade to windows 10. no support for windows 8. they support windows 7 tho. smh.

after trying rome 2 today my screen randomly goes black a second every 20 or so seconds now. its stopped. but its all driver issues (hopefully, defective cards do it too), and its not nvidia driver issues but other windows ones, and searching for nvidia drivers directly i found there was no windows 8 ones yadda yadda.

so i'm about to wipe everything and start from scratch. fml. i think i got my beats on a usb somewhere. but all my chops drums and everything else. oh well. a fresh start is needed anyways.

yea im retarded, i put delete everything in the windows 10 update options, but it only deleted the boot disk. i was hoping to move windows to my bigger ssd. i got a 128gb ssd for windows, a 1 tb hdd, and a 500 or something gb ssd. i wanted to put it on the 500 because i was constantly having to delete and keep shit clean on the 128

but since i had everything else on the other two drives i didn't lose anything of importance, it only wiped the 128. so a few programs that had .dll's or whatever on the 128 broke and i had/have to reinstall but everything seems golden now

but i don't think im gonna sell the 980, ima keep it as a backup, apologies and godspeed gents.

also rome total war 2 still runs like complete dogshit. everything i'm reading is because its a 32bit program so it can only recognise 4gb vram, if you tick unlimited memory it will use more, but having the settings maxed goes way beyond 11gb's and uses actual ram which makes it run like 15 fps.
