I often thought about why did summer break feel like forever when I was a kid and now it flies by.

The answer came to be eloquent and succinct in the shower last night. Check it:

Summer break felt like forever when you were a kid because each day was still so new and unique that we had not yet learned how to autopilot them cognitively.

I think it’s because when you were a kid it was longer in terms of how long you’ve been here. Like say, you’re 8 years old. A summer is literally 3 percent of your life at that point. So you feel it. As your age grows, three months time falls down to like 1.2% of your life at age 20. As you get even older, the percentage continues to drop. It’s likely a combination of our perception of time as we exist for more time.
My two cents

This too well said. If I have only experienced 3000 days a day will seem much longer than if I have experienced 10000 days.

Also because novel experiences stretch time relatively speaking

Younger you had a lot more of those I’d reckon

Good to see you

Agreed dead man. Well said. That movie Click had me thinking. We really try to avoid auto piloting our days, but how many of us just “grind” (autopilot) waiting for the weekend?

This is why David Foster Wallace took his life I believe.

That happened a little later, but that could be. Really thinking about life and the things concerning it help one to become more authentic. Maybe you will be authentic one day.

It is also crazy to think about how there are some people who played a significant role in your life, be it good or bad, that you do not know if they are dead or alive right now.

It also leads into another through that I think is worth recording. Time flies when you are having fun so make sure you enjoy your weekend without thinking about enjoying it.

Idk. Been peeped it. The older i get the quicker time flies by. I think it has a lot to do with being more active. With work and everything lif throws at us. Our folks used to take care of everything and we had a lot more free time that needed to filled. Nowadays free time is scarce. So time flies..

Kinda like they sy, time flies when your hving fun. Or just busy in general.

I know what it has been like to be called a gawd by man,
Doctor with abs and tan and bad with skill wider than a damn.
The greatest nonsense of thoughts if that path is entertained.
I just kept trying to die to myself and this is all that has remained.

I’m not. I just was in some Joyce stream of consciousness. What I said was true though.

The stream of consciousness was just to copy/paste your OM first four?

Also, have you read Joyce?

It is slightly hyperbolic and I would never consider myself a god, but I agree that I have bars unlike any other. Is this better?

Plenty of little things. Dunno when you stopped checking discord, but nothing major for me. How have you been?
