Is Netcees the last hope?
Can it save hip hop/battling/rhyming/text forums?
Must we put up with the abominable acts that continue to occur?
Should this be the last standing light in the sky, reaching with a signal of distress where real heads can seek solace and reside?

Never thought any would. Its cause the internet makes all other aspects of hiphop so accessible. You wanna be a rapper u just pic up a mic or a phone and post shit. No one thinks about posting lyrics anymore cause its no fame in that. Welcome to the next generation/s.

Til they resurface, Idk. I’ve seen the death of a lot of forums, thinking “it’s just a matter of time til they’re back up” only to see them go under. Regardless, the fact is rr hasn’t been the same for at least 4 years. Text and rap forums in general are a dying breed. The forum can go on for a century, but without active members, there’s no point

I hope not but with the newer generation the level of elevation seems stagnant, correct me if I'm wrong.

Text was born out of a lack of accessibility to recording and the novelty of pretending that you were/are some sort of rapper/lyricist. I was on a discord server recently that was populated by teenagers who liked Hip Hop, and their behavior reminded me a lot of old text sites, but they were mostly recording. They were awful. I mean really fucking bad, but they were talking about releasing a collaborative EP and artwork... lol... they were playing make believe. That’s how most rappers start off, honestly. Look at how Dre was in the early 80s. Shit is hilarious. Microphones are cheap and recording programs are easily accessible. The internet used to be anonymous. Kids today are much more social and comfortable with being online. It makes sense that they aren’t enthused by text alone.

Haha!!! Thank you shedding like on this angle. I heard of discord, but never bothered looking into it.
