View Full Version : Eminem
Jesus he fucking destroys this beat. Its the pitch of his voice man. Royce can do this shit to but his pitch doesnt peak over the snare like ems. Hes a demon on the beat man. Its scary. NO ONE can rip a beat like this man. Sry. Just cant. Never could. Prove me wrong

I was a big fan of Em in his prime, and I still respect him, but his content is often weak.
He's stuck on perceived slights and people underrating him, or shitting on Recovery, or what diss he did or didn't say to someone. I mean, I suppose that's better than rapping about his drug-addled mother but it just doesn't appeal to me. He's the GOAT in some circles but he still has to play the no respect card.
I listened to some songs on this new album and a few were good but I wouldn't call any "bangers". Maybe he should dumb it down a little and make a banger but I guess that's not his style these days.
And this is coming from a huge Em fan back when it was all about the multies and the flow and whatnot.
Edit: And I suppose I should have said this in the other 3 Em threads that happened earlier.

Here's an old Em verse (simple one but effective)

I think his best was with Royce, I like Rap God & that joint with Joyner...But he's a boss, imagine y'all in a battle against him...That's just a loss.

He's finally getting back to form, he's one of the few emcees I've seen adapt time and time again, i was talking to a coworker about this the other day but the mainstream hip hop from 15-20 years ago is dead along with most the huge artists of that time. Eminem has found a way to stay relevant no matter what the circumstances were.
Em on the d12 devils knight album was em in his prime. He DESTROYED every beat he was on in that album.
But still. Smoke a L. Throw some noise cancelling headphones on.. And play this track. And tell me that shit dont give you a wiers outta body experience . demonic man
Prime example. Track no2

"A whack emcee is something I could never be
That's like growing dreadlocks while you taking chemotherapy
Theoretically pen and paper is the recipe
Alphabetically I'm coming after you like the letter V"
-OneManArmy, "KGB", off of Binary Star's Masters of the Universe, 2000
Emandem confirmed biter. Binary Star is a Michigan group, just to add insult to injury. In fact, Juice, Emem's mortal Rap Battle Enemy, is on that track. No way to feign ignorance.
Time to cancel him.
I’ve been suspecting Em of sampling lesser known lyricists. There are some other examples. Bit the whole Shady persona from Cage. He’s a self proclaimed hip hop nerd who listens to everything, so you know he knew about that line.

That shit’s weird ‘cause it’s not like Em isn’t dope, but you know he had to know about that line. There’s no nods or allusions, either.

It's a line that I guarantee has been independently thought up many many times over the years.

It’s more that he rhymed it with alphabetically... but that’s not a huge stretch given the u/letter/v angle.
And that it’s a Detroit group on a classic album.

Oh I'm not doubting he's heard it before.
My post was more of a stand-alone musing.
