I'm taking 50, Banks, Yayo, Buck and Game.

Like, I'm not talking the logistics of they're relationships. But I'm thinking if they got back together i think they could bring some gangster back to the mainstream. 50 sold like crazy back in the day. I think he still holds some records. I'm not talking like it would really happen.. I'm just asking do you think the kids these days would buy that shit?

Yeah that’s exactly what I was going to say. Well summed up.

And also as far as actually buying music, who actually buys music anymore? It’s kind of fucked up and I don’t like how it’s all played out but, I’m a huge music lover and I seriously haven’t bought music since Cd’s. It’s a whole different world now.

I bet they could make some good money doing shows, if all of them came together they’d sell out smaller large venues and make some money.

But no, the younger generation would be like... ok grandpa this stuff is corny, I’m assuming.

Yeah, like I said.. I haven’t paid for music since people bought CD’s and I’m a huge music fan. I just listen to music on YouTube or Pandora or whatever for free. And I feel kind of guilty, because if you put yourself in the artists shoes, how do they actually make money... gotta be from touring. And as much as I listen to music and respect what it takes to do it, and think people deserve to get paid for it, it’s just too easy to listen to it for free. And I don’t really go to live shows anymore so I kinda feel like I’m stealing from them, but whatever.. life isn’t fair I guess.

But yeah if G-Unit did a tour of smaller large-ish venues they’d get sold out and make money. Even if all they did was their old songs and no new material.

But I don’t see them getting a new following of 14-25 year olds.. I feel like they’d see them as old people type music.

I mean millions of people do still pay for music, it's just much much cheaper than it used to be.

Yeah, what in THEE total fuck... good reference.

Some no name clown on a webcam is #8 top selling rap artist on the actual charts... Means no one buys music in that sort of way anymore.

Yeah and like I said I feel kind of bad that I don’t and haven’t in forever paid for music...given how much I listen to music and respect it, it makes my life better.

But I’m not rich, so I spend my excess money on really important things like alcohol, drugs and cigarettes.

I’m kidding but only partially. We as a society have just made it too easy to get all this music for free. So even people like me that feel bad about getting their music for free, are still going to do it.

people paying for music now mostly consists of subscriptions to streaming services

i think, to be honest i don't do any of that and barely listen to music anymore.

i technically pay for music with my youtube subscription since it comes with youtube music

but alot of the charting and shit is based off streams and listens. id be interested in seeing who has actually gone platinum off sales alone the past decade. most who go platinum has that number bolstered by their streams

I still listen to music a lot, I don’t try to discover new rappers or bands anymore though like I used to. I basically listen to the same old shit that I like and always have listened to. Just since I’ve been back on this website I’ve heard of so many new rappers, never looked them up because I can already tell they’re garbage like the pop shot or whatever guy Immo posted about

And I guess in a sense musicians make money off me because I listen to the advertisements on YouTube and Pandora. Who in turn pay the people, I’m assuming. But yeah I don’t pay any service for the as free stuff. I just suck it up and listen to the ads.

But I don’t pay for the ad free anything on any site.
