There's much truth here, as cd buying norwegian kid I can confirm. Aside from the fact that rap was exotic in lack of a better word the other music categories wasnt saying anything, we needed something different from all the bullshit love ballads that plagued the radio. I got into rap because it was explicit and unapologetic.

That being said I like white rappers like the old 3rd Bass and the later underground stuff.

I remember Tannfeen, Bubba Mo, Jørn Jeezy and a few others. I felt there was a lot of elitism going on so I gave a shit tbh, when I wanted to get more serious the Homer controversy with newspapers and police getting involved it seemed to be the straw that broke the camels back, and hh.no died pretty quickly after that. Yeah, I remember that name. Im not sure if we battled tho. I went by the name 'Sincere' (+ a couple of troll accounts for generelt section) and was active from 05 to 10. Bubba was dope in norwegian and there was some skilled english writers like Atil, Lurk, Apoplexy and blizzak, shout out to you fuckers if you ever read this.
