Was one of the greatest minds this world has ever seen.

I don't just mean funny, even though he was also the funniest man in the world imo but I mean just in terms of the brilliance of his mind and his intelligence mixed with common sense.

I think he should be up there in the esteem of the Oscar Wildes and the Mark Twains, he was at that level of greatness.

Discuss.

Love the dude, but he weren't no genius, just a dude who dropped tabs and let his goodwill philosophy cut thru the bullshit of contemporary western society.

In what way is that not genius?

In the same way that every teenager growing up in a hippy community does the exact same thing.

No they don't?

I don't even understand what that means.

You never hear about a positive drug story on the news.

Bill Hick's main points:

1. Drugs aren't that bad...
2. ...but religion is, tho.
3. The government is lying to us
4. And using the media to do so
5. People should chill out and love each other and try to learn a bit more while they're alive instead of all the fighting and deceiving and ignorance we currently surrender ourselves to.

Which is also the main points of pretty much every teenager hippy, along with how amazing A Perfect Circle are.

Here's Tom with the weather.

You say that like everything he said was a bad thing. I think anyone who realizes all those things is intelligent and not a fucking sheep.

Hicks was definitely a cool motherfucker tho.

it's funny A Perfect Circle got mentioned because Maynard Keenan loved Bill, too. i learned of him listening to Tool, in fact.

lol the APC/Keenan/Hicks connection was an obvious one I thought.

I'm not saying Bill wasn't a cool cat, and I'm not saying he wasn't on the money, I'm just saying he wasn't a genius. Average intelligence level really. Personally, I'm a massive fan of his - and APC/Tool, too.

Puscifer not so much but I do love that Rev 20:20 song

Possibly one of my favorite Maynard songs.

I just like the sort of strip club-esque vibe I get from the majority of their songs. A little different. Donkey Punch The Night was sick imo, short, but sick.

That one's pretty cool actually
