To say Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik was the best is to say you want OutKast to sound like generic mid-1990s Southern rap. You're dismissing everything that made OutKast so special and important. It's a very good album, but the next three are more innovative, interesting and fresh. Also, Big Boi really improved over the years.
Aquemini is my pick.
let fig live, veritas
lol i know how it feels to be 17, i was just that 2 weeks ago. lil nigga just wanna kick it w/ the big homies

I'd go:
1. Aquemini
2. ATLiens
3. Stankonia
4. Speakerboxxx
5. Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik
6. The Love Below
7. Idlewild
Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty would come in fourth on that list, though.

It's been a while since I listened to that. I'll throw it on now. But Goodie Mob's Soul Food is on par with OutKast's best work.

I forgot Idlewild. Christ, that was such a bad way to end things.
When was the last time you listened to Nos. 2, 3 and 4, though? I had that above Stankonia and maybe even Aquemini when I was in my all-rap phase in high school, but as I branched out I realized how brilliant Aquemini and Stankonia are.

I listened to the discography about a week ago. I went through a whole year of high school listening to OutKast 50% of the time I listened to music.
Southern has some of their best songs, period. You can say it's generic southern rap, but if that's the case sign me up. Aquemini is just a touch uneven, a couple songs I just skip. Stankonia, too. I always felt Stankonia was a touch overrated. Great album, 9/10, but slightly overrated. I'd give the first three on the list legitimate 10's.
Chronometrophobia is a god tier song I pull from Idlewild

Here's what I mean by "generic Southern rap": It doesn't push the boundaries the same way the other stuff does. SPCM was the last time OutKast sounded like any other group. Goodie Mob's Soul Food was a better extrapolation on the sound, in my opinion. Yes, it was consistent and had some absolute bangers on it. It's a great car album. But it's safe and predictable, at least compared to other OutKast material.
But I do agree that Stankonia can be a little inflated for its huge hits. The last few tracks are a bit gratuitous and self-indulgent. Aquemini, to me, is perfect.

Also, if Andre 3000 ever made an actual rap solo album (at least 20 rap verses by him, let's say), it might be the greatest thing ever.

This
southernplayalistic is great but they didn't get to their creative pinnacle yet
the other albums r dope in their own right and fit the time period released, but those r timeless
