I could do with a bit of writing but dont have a schedule that favors additional deadlines right now
nothing serious, just some light writing

I trust anything you have to say about the english language
but you as a writer are worth more than pachelbel's cannon in D

closer to what i'd have in mind but i'll nitpick like hell since you're good writers. if debussy's your thing...
same vein as clair de lune

I go for the late works of Beethoven mostly, even if that's clichéd.

I dont think its cliched and even if it is, whatever. his later works especially shaped an entire era of music for a good reason

The most gangster shit ever would be a rap album over the Ninth Symphony. Not a sample of the Ninth Symphony. The actual Ninth Symphony. No synths. Maybe a drum machine. Bring an orchestra in, have them play Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, then rap over it. Plus, the beat costs only as much as the orchestra.

thatd be something else haha. i know theres this one vivaldi piece where the first movement just feels so much like someone could start rapping
i see a new direction in hip hop forming
I'm cool with whatever, just lmk which song.
We could do a hip hop re imagining of the Brandenburg concerto.

Everything's about minimalism now and being more musical anyway. I could see someone doing it. More likely, I could see Kanye West working with a composer to reinterpret a major classical piece and chop it up into the basis for an album with all sorts of weird shit going on in addition to the symphony or whatever. It couldn't offend classical fans any more than soul fans were offended by him turning "Strange Fruit" into a whiny (but amazing) song about wanting to abort his daughter with Kim Kardashian.

that's incredibly plausible. I just hope if something like that does get done it gets done well

oh shit lol
im not particularly invested in any piece tbh, down for really any tune. I'd just be remiss if it isnt something worthy of your writing
but that ravel pavane is one of my all time favorites as far as classical music goes
