It's not so much the formations as it is AI. They are terrible at reacting on defense.
For example a MLB on QB spy will literally just stand frozen until the receiver gets the ball, THEN finally move and pursue the ball carrier when it's too late
And DB's will just stop sometimes near the sidelines as if there were a magical force field

I always use the steelers tho. every madden. every yr. ppl get stacked teams (I know you are actually a fan of sea tho) but it doesn't matter against a real madden player

Word @ zones being useless. I based my whole defense in 13 around a few nickel zones with pre-snap adjustments based on the offensive formation and the opponent's tendencies. I'm struggling with defense in 25 pretty bad.

My offense from 13 still works though, which is nice.

I put madden on super easy and disable penalties so I can run in place until the ball snaps and get 50 sacks per game
