on the real though, here's what bothers me about "bad guy"
in the song Matthew tells him he can have his broncos cap back
BUT, eminem realizes that Stan killed himself and his girl as he is writing the letter
so... are we supposed to believe he still sent the shit?
why would he send a letter to a dead guy? huh? huh?
Ghost1
11-02-2013, 07:58 PM
Ill have to listen to stan again....i doubt he missed something that obvious.....i mean....its his song...lmfao
Destroyer

the only way it makes sense is if he like felt bad and still sent the autographed hat to his brother
Witty
11-02-2013, 08:15 PM
Or maybe he had already sent it before he wrote the letter.
Destroyer
11-02-2013, 08:17 PM
nah, cause he says 'and here's an autograph for your brother... I wrote it on a starter cap.'
Witty
11-02-2013, 08:18 PM
Oh no wait he sent it with the letter.
I dunno.
Maybe Jesus did it.
Edit: I noticed my mistake as soon as I posted it.
Technically doesn't count as being wrong.

I hadn't thought about it, but I'm with Destroyer that there's a plot hole. I don't think it's important, though.
Or maybe he had already sent it before he wrote the letter.
In "Stan," the lyrics are "Here's an autograph for your brother, I wrote it on a Starter cap."
Malachi

there is no plot hole.

everyone knows this...
why are u stating the obvious?
the end of Stan does not verify that he did or did not send the letter (and the autographed hat, for that matter), so there is no plot hole. He could have very well sent it.

How did Eminem get Matthew's address?
Again, I think this is a really minor plot hole. But it's there.
I think it's a weak point of the story, but nothing gets contradicted. He could have sent it to Stan's address but addressed to Matt.

that's my favorite too. that album is a great play through and through.
enjoyed the deluxe tracks, definitely a plus. didnt care for some of the choruses though... glad he went in on all the verses of the songs to make up for it. Groundhog Day and Baby were my favorites
His first three albums are classic.

I like Infinite. It's like proto-Eminem. If you go into it just looking for pure rhymes, it's a decent listen. He doesn't have the personality he has in his next three albums, obviously. But it's interesting to see just how meticulous he is as a person when listening to Infinite in juxtaposition with his next three. His skillset has always been there, as evident in Infinite, but you can 100% tell he looked at Infinite and decided to go a different direction, with the result being the Slim Shady persona and subsequent LPs. I think Infinite is necessary when looking at Eminem as an artist in totality, and tells a lot about him personally. He's David Bowie.

Slim shady ep before dre got ahold of it was still amazing...
Straight from the lab ep is amazing as well
Sslp is prob my fav though ... Then unlike most I jump to recovery but that's just personal preference ... His work on D12s albums is amazing as well, I think proof kept a fire lit under his ass
But y'all need the b-side underground tracks ... Sooo many great tracks that have gone unreleased or on complimation albums ... All His early features were amazing as well...

Recovery shouldn't be mentioned in this topic tbh. In my mind, Eminem is Infinite through The Eminem Show.

So, Frank Metts, you like Recovery more than The Eminem Show or The Marshall Mathers LP?
I love recovery and I love em show and mmlp
To me it's like choosing ready to die or life after death ... You can't really go wrong ... em show mmlp and recovery all had flaws... I felt the vibe of recovery because I know what it's like and how hard it is to speak about addiction which is why it's personal
Not a single song on recovery or mmlp is even close to as terrible as drips which is smack dab in the middle of em show ... Which gives it a black eye
You guys know from many discussions I think recovery is a work of art... And it's a toss up between that and mmlp for #2 but i think em with less features and more serious work/lyrics is better then Em with a few terrible features ( rbx anyone ? ) rapping about nonsense but making it sound amazing

Why does ones differing opinion give everyone one of you a fear boner ? Recovery is a cd I listen to at least once a week front to back usually too and from work. It has nothing to do with being a Stan
It's like kingdom come is one of my fav Jay albums and people gasp at how I could like a jay a that doesn't rap like he's making reasonable doubt for the 5th time

How can one be wrong and one be right when it's an opinionated outlook on music?
Like I think Dave Matthews band sucks, always have, always will but I bet some people think that's sacreligous same with weezer I had their first 3 albums cause it was cool in middle and high school but I really just don't like their music all than much... Not that it's horrible because it's not it's just not my cup of tea.
Drips is a terrible song and I've heard some of you complain you don't like Amityville and remember me off mmlp .. How can an album be held it such high regards when some openly feel it's flawed? I for one only skip real slim shady on mmlp and without me and drips on em show but I don't skip a single track on recovery and haven't found a track that I skip on mmlp 2 but it's still kind of early for those albums.
It's hard to make a list because Ems music has different moods and vibes and some of it you have to be in the mood for
