If they remove the penny, they'll have to make prices in multiples of 5 or 0.

How awkward would it be if some shit rang up to $3.77, and the patron pays $3.80, and the cashier replies "the country is out of pennies" eh?

They have officially removed the penny as of Feb 4th. Banking stays the same, down to the decimal however purchases paid in cash are being rounded off. Seems fucked up to me, but I'd assume the US will follow suit

I was right btw, it costs roughly 2 cents to produce every penny, the nickle is also more costly to produce then its face value though....
