this album is skippable to me except a few tracks

idc about kanye west anymore which means all his music is irrelevant

Destroyer
11-21-2013, 09:25 PM
see, Q says he hates it which means it's an obv classic

PancakeBrah

I don't think it's a non-skippable album as there's a few duds on it but it has 3-4 songs that are probably in Kanye's Top 10 all time. It's a pretty tough album to rank in terms of Kanye's discography because it's pretty different from his other 'normal' rap albums. It's a solid 9/10 for me.

Destroyer
11-21-2013, 09:29 PM
what do you skip?
don't tell me it's the chris rock part
please pancake don't tell me it's that part man
don't do it

DLB

lol @ this being a classic

it's a good album, a cpl songs on here are classics but as a whole, nah. so appalled is the biggest fail of a song by allowing swizz beatz the beginning, and letting rza randomly hop on the hook at the end & who will survive in america is trash execution. half these songs are like 10 minutes long and this is the beginning of the animal rape noises that are abused so much on yeezus. tbh yeezus ruined everything kanye put out in my ears. these tracks become skippable as fuck because kanye just talks about whatever and everything has an outro and intro. i listened to majority of the Good Ass Friday tracks and they were long as fuck for no reason as well.

blame game has a fucking interlude and outro, all of the lights, etc

PancakeBrah

All of the Lights is a great, great, song.

Word @ So Appalled, though. I skip that one every time I listen to MBDTF.

Yeezus is dope, though.

DLB

yeezus is trash to me, lyrically EVERYTHING kanye says on that is a contradiction, esp new slaves as a whole and the production is obviously lazily done, he waited till a week before the album is due to make it with rick rubin

my ears hear all the flaws in yeezus so easily

so appalled was dope when i heard the first previews that didnt have swizz beatz, kanye's features hurt and helped mbdtf

PancakeBrah

Listening to Yeezus for lyrics is like watching porn for the plot.

wait pancake u make no sense

u listen to music for its lyrics as much as the instrumentals if not more so in hiphop, not rap, but hip hop. yeezus lacks a message. it lacks focus. it lacks direction. it lacks wit. it lacks singles and strong tracks in general. the only songs that are decent are bound 2, black skinhead and new slaves and that shit's filled with dumb 808 fills in random parts of the song, along with a set of contradictions. he even made a song that started off describing eating ass and shit.

ray j won the war, kanye won the battle btw

Destroyer

all I know is 808s came out right before this and this was so welcome after that travesty

I still think Graduation was his worst, even with two or three great songs.

At least he tried something on 808s & Heartbreak.

DLB
11-21-2013, 11:02 PM
808s wasnt even bad

it has a list of good songs and hit singles. kanye had a direction and he went with it, the autotune abuse is recognizable but he does it justice and made creative poppy synthesized songs u can bump or just listen to

taiko drums are also pretty cool to use/hear

KennyCerealBowl

wow wtf? Graduation really? to me thats another classic album. Kanye is the most consistent rapper ever.

Kanye is the only one rapper with a album trilogy that was gradually better than the last from college dropout, to late registeration, to graduation.

He experimented with 808s and to me he succeded.

Then.. he comes with the Monster. MBDTF a flawless fucking album this album is like.. Picasso on a bad LSD trip

Graduation absolutely was not better than Late Registration.

I liked graduation more than late registeration.
Late registeration was real dope though but MBDTF is better than all these

That's like saying Reasonable Doubt is Jay-Z's best album but only having listened to his 1990s stuff, though. You might be right and very easily might think that even if you had listened to everything. But until you listen to everything, your "best" requires a qualifier.

Eŋg

i'm confident Reasonable Doubt IS Jay's best work -- and i've listened to all his albums. up to Kingdom Come.

i see your point, though. i don't subscribe to the logic, personally, being selective.

Dlb once again showing he doesn't have the maturity to just accept that people have different opinions.

YOU SHOULD LIKE THIS BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT I THINK SOUNDS BETTER...POST SONGS YOU LIKE AND I WILL CALL THEM GARBAGE.

This is getting old.
