Nothin' worse than getting ready to kick a game winning field goal, and then having it blocked but ALSO returned for a touchdown. It was destined for Auburn.

Wasn't blocked, tho.

Who's #2?

King Ra.
11-30-2013, 07:59 PM
Florida State is #2. They are going to be #1 now. I'm sure Auburn's win will jump them to #2. Ohio State barely beat Michigan so they probably will stay at #3.

it's going to be AU vs OSU.

Ohio State can get in by this scenario:

Florida State plays Duke in the ACC title game. Auburn plays Missouri or South Carolina in the SEC title game. If both FSU & Auburn win their conference championships, I will believe that they both get the National title nod, because Auburn's strength of schedule is greater than OSU's, and a one-loss SEC usually would get the nod over an undefeated Big10 team.

But if either FSU or Auburn loses in their respective conference title games, then Ohio State is going to the National Championship. But mind you, Ohio State has one game left: their Big10 title match up against a very good Michigan State squad. They first have to get past them.

me either^

this is my first year really following it, at least watching every osu game. i actually spaced today tho and only caught the last 11 minutes of osu/michigan

but word thatd be wack if auburn jumps em cuz of this

i mean if alabama/osu gets a bowl game i guess it wouldnt be that bad but still

i just hear so much about how strong there division is, and how bullshit osu's division is. im curious to see OSU bang with em

i'd like to see FSU and OSU tho

Florida State vs Ohio State would be an electrifying National title match up.

SEC teams go through gauntlet schedules, which is why whenever one of the teams goes undefeated or has one-loss they usually end up in the National championship. Plus do you recall what happened the last two times OSU made it to the national championship against an SEC opponent? Lost 41-14 to Tebow & the Gators in '06 and lost 38-24 to Russell & the LSU Tigers in '07- back to back appearances.

Braxton Miller looks like a monster out there though. They may be able to handle it this time around.

it would be terrible if they got notre dame'd tho lmao

ohio states run game is solid as fuck. miller is pretty dope. im biased toward GUITON THO. i feel dumb for it, but he seems smarter to me. miller is just able to beast, where i feel like guiton threads needles and shit and picks teams apart.

its obviously built around miller tho, and he's a G.

carlos hyde's a hooligan too, and osu's oline pretty much engulfs d-lines, but they do play alot of bums so who knows against SEC competition or whatever

would be dope

somehow it works off of your record, your schedules strength, and i think even things like margin of victory go toward your rankings. if your blowing everybody out it carries more weight then barely beating people

but it depends on who you're beating too

its all confusing to me.

Yes, the BCS ranking system is a very complex system which uses not only what uh-oh just mentioned, but also takes into account all the other computer rankings out there like the AP, USA Today and ESPN (I think there is like 8-10 rankings out there maybe even more). So it's very, very complex.

In the most simplest of terms, the strength of schedule plays a major factor. And then how you play against the lower, unranked teams as well. Which is why Ohio State may need to win their title game convincingly and hope for at least an Auburn/Florida State loss, because if FSU finishes unbeaten and Auburn takes the SEC title, it's very likely they will put Auburn in the title game with the one-loss and prominent schedule strength they had this year. Mind you, NOBODY predicted Auburn to even be ranked or win the SEC coming off that dreadful year last year. So Ohio State needs to keep their fingers crossed.
