Mike Wrecka (0-1) vs. Camp bell (1-0) - if mike can produce something like he did last week and even something moreso, he has an advantage in this matchup. but there is always upset likelihood.
c.d.m. (0-1) vs. Rawn MacDon (0-1) - great matchup. i think VERITAS will (hopefully) show up and demonstrate some more illness - enough in fact to beat the clown MACKDONYALL. not taking anything away from RAWN, because this will be epic. i just hope that both show and produce at their potential.
HelloKitty (1-0) vs. Kuja (1-0) - NYC, undercover phenomenon, watch for it. i fux with kuja as well though. this is like a TS reunion. i dig it.
cakecakecake (0-1) vs. Innovator (1-0) - cause cake wants to hoe out and be flaky week 1. by default, innovator takes this.
Genocide (1-0) vs. pohfig (1-0) - can hardly call this, because it pohfig's writing seems very similar to a writer that i am facing currently in another realm.. it will be a close match, and a sick one. i will be voting on this for sure.
Zenland (1-0) vs. zygote (0-0) - zygote is a tough matchup man. zenland has what it takes to measure up, but zygote is a bottomless pit of ideas. he'll be a problem for the league.
Orc (0-1) vs. King Keith (0-0) - i will predict orc again, even though he took a tough loss last week, i think he will use the commentary he received (personally, i think he needs to put more of himself into his writing and fast forward out of the brokenswordz/excal era) and take this battle. keith will be the underdog imo.
Strikta (0-0) vs. Frank (1-0) - its dope to see strik getting involved in the dopest league on AOB for sure. but he's got a monster of an opponent, which im hoping will motivate him to write at his best, which would definitely be enough to make this a close battle. im predicting frank based on consistency and experience, but who knows.
Witty (1-0) vs. Split (1-0) - tough call. both of you guys are dope ass human beings, but only one may prevail. i think witty has the ye olde veteran of topicality factor in his favor, but split is really coming into his own as of late. it will be a nice match up.

dead man (1-0) vs. Nigma (0-1) - Another contender for BOTW, going with Black simply because of familiarity with his writing and what I know he can do. Looking forward to this one.

Joined in 2005 and made it to the playoff quarter finals my first season lol There were people like Bounce, Brix, Evolve, Engivale, Black, Brandon, Cry, Oats, Chris Black (who yes was an asshole and someone I disagree with on most things, but was also fucking dope) etc. etc.

Ambiguous pictures/phrases are good but it would also be good to see more well-defined topics or images. For example, how about a week of time periods, or famous characters, or occupations, or controversial topics? Perhaps having ambiguous topics actually decreases the number of things you can write about. Whereas a more concrete topic would stretch peoples comfort zones and give a greater margin in choosing what to write about.

Welll Split. In that case.. we switch off and on. One week is pics or phrases aimed at a universal subject. The next = aimed @ nothing. I think to pick a subject.. and then find pics that relate to the same subject for every battle not only challenges the writer.. but us to as mods. It also helps individual battles to not feel so individual if everyone is aiming towards the same goal.. ultimately. It may just up post views/votes. Worth a try. I think next week is as good a week as any to test this theory

Battles will close on SUNDAY NIGHT regardless of the amount of votes your battle has. So if you post Saturday night, don't be surprised if you don't get much votes come Sunday.

Perhaps a minimum post count prerequisite would be beneficial to at least help deter against no shows. I dunno, like 35 posts or something to deter brand new people signing up to the site who join the league and then never log in again.

Nigma Post count isn't really an issue. New signees will always be paired against another new person and/or against somebody who no showed the week prior and signed back in for the upcoming week. That way those who are actively participating on a week-to-week basis won't be set up against someone new who may no show.

Despite the amount of no shows this week, props to those who took the time to post a verse & still voted on the other battles. You will have your shine in the upcoming magazine. Week 3 matches are being prepped & will be posted upon the closing of voting tomorrow night. That way matches are ready to go come Monday morning.
