As a rapper, he peaked between Da Drought 2 (mid-2004) and Dedication 2 (late 2006). Those two, Tha Carter II and The Dedication were basically when he started winning over the Ca$h Money/Hot Boys haters who hadn't realized he was becoming a legitimate rapper.

But musically, I love Tha Carter III. It's full of ridiculous shit and by far his most ambitious album.

Over the past three years, since he came back from that stint away because of whatever it was, he has seemed unfocused and lost the power in his voice.

Dedication 1 & 2 definitely listen

Carter 1, 2, & 3 are all good. Especially 1 & 2

Drought 3 is by far his last DOPE mixtape

Everything else from there is a mixed bag

Carter 2 and earlier were more raw lyrics. Carter 3 and on he finally mastered his style.

Dedication series is cray

I would suggest both the I am not a human being cds as well

No ceilings is dope

Not feeling Lil Wayne, his ghostwriters are a hit and sometimes a miss for me.

Carter 1 was dope though. After that, I wasnt feeling him.
