Meh...why not?

Topic: The moment one forms an idea of a thing and successfully catches one of its aspects, one invariably succumbs to the illusion of having caught the whole.

-Sacrifice

The Allegory of the Cave

The crowd...the streets; the rabble as they crawl-
down off the beat as they battle through the sprawl
of the slum; they come...these cattle to the the call
How to understand the sun by the shadows on the wall?
Brain addled and enthralled by the passions and the fictions...
...these: facts that I recall down the path of reminiscence
Trapped in my remission as I cycle through the days,
for insight into the haze of a cancerous conviction
Dancing in the kitchen-spicing up my daze
as I'm scratched upon the friction that ignited in the maze
There's a way, a road...a light to lead the throng
A pace, a flow we can write into the song
that the righteous and the strong sing along the boulevard
to the light, from this hell, up the long way and hard
As wrongs strain the heart and deceit breeds deceit
It's the ignorance and bliss that'll keep you beneath
So we visit in the grim-and sit within the tar
Magdeline trapped within the sinning and the scars
Never risen to the part that our destiny plays
So I've given you the shards as the rest of me, fades...

But they pointed, they laughed, they ridiculed the pieces
Poisoned and stabbed at his privity and thesis
Who is he to speak this-or hassle them and scorn;
who can't battle with the shadows and grapple with the forms?

I scrabble...in the thorns-back to the road
Past the rabble that has formed along the track of the rose
And scramble to the shore of a mind uninhibited...
...brightened by enlightenment-blinded to my ignorance
The "whole"; a part-captured and encased
in the stone of a hearth soon to fracture and erase
In the hold of the stars on the canvas that we spray...
...where the cold, and the dark, is the natural state

ya this was cool. i enjoyed it. the allegory of the cave is a very interesting read. philosophy is thought provoking, wish i could have majored in it but ya what a waste of money that would have been.

anyway you really took that story, and put a dope twist on it. was well written. nicely done.
