Title: " Blessed are the peace makers"

Act I: Twin brothers

They were blood but love was shallow, differences diametrically,
Interestingly, the rest we see, is how destiny, intervenes excessively

John was strong and smart, first born, apple of the metaphorical eye
James was frail and pale, forlorn, fickle, the oracle: a horrible cry

John left home to become a missionary, James went to uncle Sam, both were serious.
Their father told their mother, “ I know this was never our plan, but God is always mysterious”

ACT II: Boot camp

James loved the pain, shame, blood, and rain
His heart overachieved beyond a frail frame

Sure the fails came, but his commanders noted his will, his valor, his oddity
Knew this boy could be molded: weakness eroded, now noticed mass on his body

After three long years of various training James was a Spartan, a special forces commando
His mind no longer cried, the new oracle: This mother fucker was Rambo.

ACT III: The Prophet

John preached the Bible with fire, and a conviction that the natives had never heard
The poverty and mosquitos were an afterthought as long as they had the reverend’s word

The land was rife with war all around him,
So ironic that GOD had taken him from peace when he found HIM

Violence never ceased but John released the Word, it’s sounds a fountain
And his little village was peace, where faith had moved a mountain

ACT IV: 15 years later

James was a veteran, a commander, had killed four thousand of the enemy
John was a veteran, a saint, had saved over four thousand from the enemy

The peaceful village was no longer, a new warlord had come to inhabit
Along with the nearby diamond mine, and made the sheep slaves to traffic

James’ team got the order. “The village was a den of pure evil
Kill the leader, and do not spare any of his deceived people,

And bring peace to the land.”
That night John dreamed a span:

John had never dreamt so vividly, equivocally the prophet’s nightmare
He awoke and meditated upon it, then cried, then laughed at his slight scare….

V: Intermission:

The wind scattered sand a midst the desert heat,
James eyes spied it join the multitudes beneath his feat

Encased in combat boots that marched him ahead
Stripes on his sleeve, death in his eyes, helmet on his head

Well fit and battle bred, shells clipped, scope’s dot red
Saw the horizon speak the village where his destiny had led…..

VI: destiny and prophecy

James laid waste to everything that moved, armed or other wise
His rifle’s rapport was like Zeus lighting up with thunder skies

His team killed the warlord, and as they were leaving they saw a man crying
James put a bullet in the man’s back, now he and his team saw a man dying

They dying man called out: “JAMES…..” with all the strength he could muster
James saw the face of John, and panic started to race….. could it be his long lost brother?

John remembered his dream, and while James wept, John knew it would be fine
His last words were: “Brother, I love you…..remember Matthew 5:9”
