I started this game as a dark elf battle mage as opposed to the orc warrior last play around.

It has been a good choice.

Walk out of town, 30% of the time fight a dragon
So many glitches where I lift an Eider Grape or something and everyone in a town attacks me on sight
Started that fucking awful arrow to the knees joke
Very few unique armors
World felt dead unless you're in a town

I just hated how fake the atmosphere felt overall

Yea the lack of armors peeved me, I've always been an advocate for world items that have stories behind them, gives a lil bit of life to them. I liked fighting the dragons, they wasn't fuckin wit meh. Maybe you should learn how to be stealthy.

You want to level up quickly and have any armour you want?
Make iron daggers and a FUCKLOAD of them! It gets you smithing skill up very quickly which causes you yo level up very quickly.
