I have difficulty balancing being a fan of other artists and an artist myself.
I say this because I just noticed that out of literally hundreds of dope beats I only have like seven of my own on my phone.
My iPad is a showcase. But that's cause it's for showcase...
Am I the only one with this issue?
It's either all or nothing, why?

when i made beats i couldn't stand to listen to them right after
i never had them on my ipod though never really wanted to listen to my own stuff
that's like being an artist and having your own paintings all over your walls

Oh word that's a challenge then
Do you not like them or? As I said I couldn't listen to mine after awhile, making them the shit is like nails on a chalkboard by the end that's mainly why I stopped. Wasn't enjoying it

The only place I have my tracks stored are either on my desktop or on the net. I don't have any to go mobile and listen to them. So in that sense, no. The only time the 2 mould together is when I'm listening to other peoples music. Being a "rapper" and someone who's dabbled in beat making I find I have a MUCH greater appreciation for their tracks, even if I don't really fuck w/it from a taste point of view.

Agreed c, knuck. I love my shit, I just either always have ninety percent me or ninety percent other, and I think it's strange. Would prefer more balance, wondering why it's not like the rest of my musical life.

Did you listen to them a lot at first? You do that and your ears will adapt to the mix... Then go back after a while fresh and be like blehhh. theres also a reason why songs on the radio end up sounding like "nails on a chalkboard"... DJ's play them to death.
