So briefly, I was on a date with this girl who I had known for a long time already and we were sitting on the harbor front talking when I got the deja vu feeling, been here before having this exact conversation in this exact spot.
I know most people here aren't spiritual and believe that death is the finale, although I have been reading some interesting articles on it and I think it is too strong a feeling to brush aside as a mere coincidence.
"Too often, we dismiss these signs as ‘coincidences’ and miss their underlying significance. Yet perhaps their significance is their very synchronicity and feeling of familiarity, which is letting you know that you are exactly where you should be, when you should be, and with whom you should be. These moments are signs that are telling you that you are on the right ‘path’ for your soul."

"The more familiar you are with a person (soul) the more passion there is. This is why many strangers (friends who've forgotten their past life connections and relationships) can meet and experience a strong burning desire and connection and hook up in a relationship and immediately experience a strong and burning passion and chemistry together. They are merely picking up in this life where the left off in a past life and for purposes of completion of soul lessons of course. Everything means something or has a reason and purpose behind it. What we don't learn in a past life, we will be presented with opportunities in the present life and/or subsequent life or lives to learn those unlearned lessons. These lessons are considered 'karmic lessons.'"

Anyone care to share experiences or findings RE the issue.
Lets not turn this into a religion thread either pls.

I don't know how you can discuss 'souls' without this turning into a religion thread
don't scientists believe déjà vu is some sort of error of the brain writing memories? that makes more sense to me. but wtf do I know? nothing
déjà vu is trippy tho

This has already happened.
the real question now becomes: "how, or what about those moments when we have deja vu, makes us remember this"????

This seems like a pretty good answer.
Never really thought about it until now tbh.

tl;dr
I think the. "Chemistry" we feel is exactly that
Maybe something to do with our auras being attuned
I find that more likely than past life shit

when you have deja vu and you recognize the commercial on tv
then somebody walks in the room and says something that you bascially knew was about to be said but you didn't realize it until after they said it
how in tf is that a past life?

It's pure speculation.
Nobody can say for sure that you are reliving something from a past life, and until they can it is just guess work.
We know less about the human mind than we do about our solar system, I think things like this will be explained scientifically in the not so distant future. I'm not saying it isn't true, just that people saying it is true are frauds. People don't like to admit that there is just some shit we don't know yet, and so they jump to conclusions.

what does this even mean really? what scale are we using here to measure?

In terms of how everything works the way it does and why everything works the way it does, we have more information about the solar system in that regard than we do about the workings of the brain. The human brain remains one of the biggest mysteries in science, although there is progress being made.
"Consider the human brain," says physicist Sir Roger Penrose. "If you look at the entire physical cosmos, our brains are a tiny, tiny part of it. But they're the most perfectly organized part. Compared to the complexity of a brain, a galaxy is just an inert lump."
- The Daily Galaxy via Allen Institute for Brain Science
"Of all the objects in the universe, the human brain is the most complex: There are as many neurons in the brain as there are stars in the Milky Way galaxy. So it is no surprise that, despite the glow from recent advances in the science of the brain and mind, we still find ourselves squinting in the dark somewhat."

deja vu is just suddenly interpreting patterns on an incredibly abstract scale (memory)
like a brain glitch, there is no pattern, but your brain is constantly creating and defining relationships between things whether or not they are important or even true

I know of presque vu, and experience it pretty much every day.
What is jamais vu?

BUT TELL ME EXACTLY HOW YOU KNOW FOR A FACT THAT WE KNOW MORE ABOUT OUTER SPACE THAN WE DO OUR BRAINS AND ALSO EXPLAIN HOW YOU CAME TO THE MEASUREMENTS

BUT TELL ME EXACTLY HOW YOU KNOW FOR A FACT THAT WE KNOW MORE ABOUT OUTER SPACE THAN WE DO OUR BRAINS AND ALSO EXPLAIN HOW YOU CAME TO THE MEASUREMENTS
Lol I have come to no measurements, I am just an enthusiast who reads articles and watches things, and gains information based on that. I am not a scientist, it is all out there if you want to look it up. I'm just participating in discussion. I have seen many neuro-scientists say we know more about the universe than we know about the intra***ies of our own brains, and I have no reason not to accept the word of those who study it for a living. I have looked at what they had to say and it made sense, I have looked at the evidence for it and that also made sense, I had no reason to object to it, if I had seen reason to object to it I would have done so. If you want to offer a counter argument feel free to do so, if you want it explained I am not the person to go to. I could find the articles and videos I have watched, but that's all I would be doing, I have never claimed to come up with the evidence or to have personally partaken in the gaining of the evidence lol I just look at it and remember it, it's called learning. Or should we not discuss things unless we personally have the evidence for it? Again, it's all out there if you want to go look for it.
Calm down little buddy, don't hurt yourself, hit that caps lock button again and fix your face.

Way to completely misunderstand my original post btw.
Basically all I was saying is that there is so much shit we don't know and we shouldn't jump to conclusions, the part about the brain and our solar system wasn't even the main point of my post, it was just an example of the fact we know very little about the human brain, because it is the most complex thing that exists in nature and that many things which are mysteries now such as deja vu will be explained by science in the future.
We have a deeper understanding of the movement of the planets and stars in space, and why they exist, how they exist, how they came into existence...than we do of why the human brain and consciousness exists or why it exists, or how it came into existence. I don't know why that is so hard for you to come to terms with.
