towards the end of last year august to be exact. my brother got shot and killed by a highway patrol officer. the reason i am posting bout it now is i have a quetion for those who might know because theres smart dudes on here

the highway patrol officer shot him 5 times int he chest. he fired 6 shots and hit him with 5, isnt cops supposed to be trained in disarming or atleast hitting somewhere to disarm a person?

also we got the report fromt he lawyers today and the town it happened in ont he interstate is small, and the grand jury members is ALL from that town which happened weeks after the newspaper storys etc. so wasnt that illegal in its own right?

im just rying to make sense of how fucking ridiuclous or justice system is because the papers we got today make no sense to me

If anyone in the jury knows the police officer it's illegal.
If anyone in the jury knows eachother and they vote the same; an investigation would be allowed too undergo thoroughly and legally with cooperation from the law or else law suits should be in order.

Or something, I aint a lawyer though so try bringing it up too him. He would most likely sympathize

see thats what i thought, the lawyer though everytime we mention shit he says "im getting all the evidence we will talk about this when its gathered" but yo its been since august. people want answers. and the jury did know each other and the officer. its such a small town it would literally be impossible for them not to

I live in about 10,000 within city limits of a 100,000 or 200 or something

I know the names of the officers here, but I dont know them personally. We have about 100 sheriffs, Highway patrol and Popo combined; You tend too meet the same people especially the police -_-

The odds of the jury and the judge knowing the officer personally is quite low man, you should share the case with us.

Like innovator said; go do some investigating. If your lawyer and the police cant do it, do it yourself.

Try and get testimonials proving they are friends.

Maybe bump into one of them at this restaurant and get too know them, carry a recorder.

If it was my family I would do everything in my power too see honor restored.

Im sorry for you loss and wish you the best of luck.

Terribly sorry for your loss bro.

The State is going to protect cops at all costs to be honest. Cops get away with rape and murder with a simple suspesion or sometimes less because they wear a badge. Law enforcement is like lube to the Superstructure which encompasses Justice, Education and Government. It's based on preserving the status quo so that those in power remain in power. The people in power need officers in place so that any civil disobedience is squashed. Cue Cake coming in like "It's all pseudo-intellectual nonsense" b/c he has insecurity issues.

If you really think it's something worth investigating I say take it upon yourself and look into everything you can. Books, online, people from the town. The resources are there you just have to use them.

everyhting pretty much because it was like the eyewitnesses called into the newspaper. as i said its a small place. the news paper had what happened. like here is another fucked p part. us being his family we had to find out everything via a newspaper they would not tell us anyhting. one day they said they had no info then exactly 24 hours later they did a public statement for the news paper n we wa slike wtf. they still to this day wont tell us shit which is why we had to get a lawyer atleast to find out what went down

from what i understand is he got out of his truck and had the gun aboce his had like when u put ur arms behind ur head when a cop tells u to? he had both hands behind his head n the gun still in his hand and he was walking toward the state trooper.

First off...GoW my brotha I am so sorry to hear that. Its getting so bad with police officers abusing their powers that it seems like they will pepper spray or shoot any first and not even bother to ask questions later. Its like they have a vendetta against the poor or people that they deem as "other". It use to be a racial thing. Now its kill everyone and anybody that dares to move an inch when they say freeze. Personally , I think they do this to those who they think are low income and can't afford a good lawyer whether they be black,white,hispanic/asian or what ever else nationality. Unfortunately GoW....they will try everything in thier power to drag your brothers name in the mud to justify their pathetic actions. They will put pressure on your whole family to not persue this any further. Hang in there my brotha.
