At the tail end of the week, a rather curious event took place in Madrid. Under the title “Project Europe”, it featured talks by a host of prominent Spanish, Portuguese and Italian speakers, including the current prime ministers of Spain and Portugal, Mariano Rajoy and Pedro Passos Coelho, and the recently deposed Italian premier Enrico Letta.
