Season 3

Welcome to Week 3, where you can choose your own adventure of sorts. We're bringing back story leads as topics, and as a warmup (since story leads also will be used in weeks 7, 11 and 15), you will be allowed to choose your own topic from the 10 listed below. The idea is to build off the story lead and into a full verse. You do not have to tell a story, as some of the leads lend themselves to topical or introspective verses, as well.

The one rule is that you must at some point clearly state which topic you chose (either before or after the verse). With that said, you are encouraged (but not required) to agree to a topic with your opponent. Feel free to use more than one topic, if you so choose. Here are your choices:

1. You walk out of your front door one Monday morning to the sight of a mythical creature.

2. It's March, and you're going to your fifth funeral of the year.

3. You wake up in an alley and realize you are in London. The last thing you remember, you were in New York.

4. You're 13 years old and hanging out with your friends when someone passes you a joint.

5. A giant robot is walking down the street, killing people and blowing up storefronts.

6. You meet someone via online dating whom you instantly connect with, particularly over your taste in all sorts of things. But you start to realize that the commonalities are too weird, too overlapping: the exact same favorite song, favorite movie, etc.

7. The drums never stop beating in your head. Everywhere you go, you hear the drums.

8. You just lost the ability to speak.

9. You see your mother in bed with a man who is not your father.

10. Animals are leaving your town at an unheard-of rate. Birds, squirrels, rabbits and even insects are migrating elsewhere.

Good luck!
