I recently picked up your reading recommendation, over my own.

I became distracted applying for positions.
It seems up to the standard of 48 laws, and I am going to begin a more thorough reading tonight.
Are you up for another session in the near future?

how's the pyramid scheme coming along bud?
Rawn MD
03-13-2014, 02:12 PM
Le Wise Ways
it wasn't a pyramid scheme.
However, I did not actually go to said position bc of a misadventure that I posted about in disc, that was dismissed as a 'lie.'
Thanks for the inquiry though.

"Dismissed as a lie"
Who's fault is that?
Rawn MD
03-13-2014, 03:26 PM
Everyone, with the exception of me and a select few.
You people dismiss everything I say as a lie, despite proof and evidence.
I enjoy, and expect it at this point though.

Gregory. Perhaps you should use some of the tactics on this board.
homework:
what tactics of the laws and strategies would you use on this board, and how would you specifically?

V - the reputation law is already been implemented; albiet incorrectly, but still effectively
the whole 'gaurd it with your life' thing...yeah.
and that is the trump law
however, I am doing my own social experiment if you will
I will talk further to you about it during out next session.

Fair enough The Mind Assassin
Have you heard about 'The 50th Law"?
It's supposed to pick up where '48 laws' finishes, but....
has a special guest co-writer (not sure if he's so much as a writer, or informant.)
I am going to pick that up as well, for later reading though.
Ill probally be reading '50th law' prior to 'The Art of...'
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Additionally, in the midsts of this type of reading, which I consider to be far more analytical and deep thinking, I have picked up more story-telling, light reading.
Now that I've finished the 'Mad Adam trillogy' by Margaret Atwood ('Oryx and Crake,' 'Year of the Flood' and 'Madd Adam')
I have picked up 'Doomed' by Chuck Palahnuik as well, which is a sequel to 'Damned.'
I didn't enjoy 'Damned' to the extent of 'Survivor' - still consider it my all-time favorite novel, only being rivaled by Atwood's 'Oryx and Crake'
or to the likes of 'Fight Club,' 'Haunted,' 'Choke,' ect...
however, I still feel a need to follow up on reading it, because I do enjoy his writing, stylistically if nothing more.
Neighbor - I know your a fan of Palahnuik as well; the only remaining novels' of his I have yet to read are: 'Doomed,' 'Tell-All,' 'Stranger Than Fiction,' 'Invisible Monsters,' and 'Invisible Monsters Remixed.'
I began reading 'Invisible Monsters Remixed,' but the way it's wrote kinda threw me with the whole jump to chapter x. The continuity kinda had me at a loss. Plus, as with my original hesitation to reading the original 'Invisible Monsters' thematically its a bit too feminine - at least the portion I've read.
Have you read any of those listed as 'not yet read' though neigh?
Ill also tag oats, and Certain bc I know you both enjoy reading to an extent. So an opinion would be valid from either.
An opinion on what? Sorry that was a really long post
Rawn MD

The second half of it....
Mainly on any of the Palahnuik books I've yet to read
Invisible Monsters rmx'd or the original, Tell-All, Stranger than fiction, or Doomed.
also did u ever look into that Madd Adam trillogy by Atwood - or have you ever read Atwood for that matter? oats
I've read Atwood - Pennelopiad, Payback, and a handful of poems and short stories. that trilogy is on the queue. I'm reading Ulysses right now, prob finish in 3-4 weeks.
Only Palahniuk I've read is survivor, and I enjoyed it a lot.
Rawn MD

Word
Survivior is fire, Palahnuik at his best imo.
I heard Pennelopiad was dope, and was going to continue reading more of her after I had read 'Oryx and Crake.'
I originally picked up 'A Hand-Maidens Tale' to get a better scope of her as a writer, bc it recieved a lot of praise.
I read some of it, but it wasn't as gripping as my prior selection, and was not the best choice given it's over-arching female themes.
However, it was a dystopia - based book, and sounded appealing. So, I chose it.
I ended up putting it down to read 'Level 26' by Anthony Zuiker w/ Mark Ecko.
That book was dope AF I'd like to add.
Zuiker has since added I believe 2 more novels, making it a trillogy. May also be worth the read at a later date.
It was cool though bc not only was it a novel, it had a web component to it as well that was directed/illustrated by Mark Ecko.
I liked Pennelopiad a lot. Handmaid's tale is considered her best (haven't read it so can't agree or disagree), but she won the booker for what was also seen as an inferior novel in 2000 as a bit of a political move for snubbing handmaids.
Rawn MD

Yeah - thats why I picked it up man.
It was just to feminine.
I read a good 150 pages, and then I became to chauvanistic to read any more.
She is a great writer though.
I think 'Oryx and Crake' won a booker, or at least was nominated too.

That's it.
When he tags another user it's basically to say "hey look at this shit I know. you're smart. here are some things we can find common ground in. because im pretty smart too, yeah?"
meanwhile he is a common criminal trying to curry favor on a text rap website.
in real life you are someone i would hate and would verbally confront, in my anti-social way, if you were to ever pull this faux-personable bullshit with me. you are literally the worst personality type in america and there are far too many of you.

What happened to that Rawn? I liked him.

It's been rough, and I'll be 100 and say that I am comprehending maybe 1/10 of what is going on. The writing is fun though, so it keeps me going. At this point, I'm reading it just to read it; later in life I'll try to revisit it with a reader's guide to try and make sense of it. Infinite Jest is another intimidating title.

Diode why do you hate James Joyce?
his writing is deliberately obtuse
his story telling is banal and long winded
and i hate his stupid face
Rawn MD

joyce is verbose tbh
Yes. Once you catch onto the rhythm of the writing it's easier to flow with it and decipher the humor. In that sense it's a fun read. In the sense that it is overwhelmingly long with stretches of unintelligible meandering, it is not a fun read lol.

if it's any consolation i hate the bronte family even more.
I'm with you wholeheartedly on the brontes, can't stand them.
Joyce was innovative and insightful, just difficult to penetrate and at times incomprehensible. Portrait of the Artist is an awesome book.
