What did you major in? What do you do now?
If you didn't go to college, what was your alternative?

My current situation is this:
-Finished school, no university. Security 3 yrs. Am now half way through my Police application hoping that the security will be seen as a relevant background.
If that fails...
Plan B = Travel, come back, study (hopefully something to do with nature/animals, would also consider nursing/paramedics) and drop back to casual hours with work.
Plan C = Move north and farm.

May your police application be accepted and may you succeed in it.
One of the main things that college students don't realize is that work experience is what employees are looking for. The degrees is sometimes considered a door to get into it. Honestly, with your experience, you'll get it. No doubt.
Man, travel sounds like a crazy plan. Just grab your suitcase and leave your home.
Which part of the world do you live in, homie?

Wow, have you ever written about your journeys of your travels? Damn, I would LOVE to read about that. Dude speaking of Rwanda, it's been 20 years now since the genocide.
I haven't been there in 5 years, and not planning to tbh. It's getting hectic because a) the presidential elections, meaning a lot of opponents and bombings b) the American troops are leaving by the end of this year which could just mean disastrous things for the country. I don't know. I'll keep my eye out on it.
I am planning on going to Mecca for the [minor] pilgrimage, so I have that going for me :-)
I am also planning on going to America, but I shall see on that one, lol.

Maybe one day I will write about them. I should start this year actually, just keeping a diary when i am there.
I thought you reside in the USA do you not?
Good luck with the pilgrimage, hopefully it enlightens you further :)
Cheers bro

Never even finished high school
Dropped out in 10th grade
Got a GED
Started working at 15
Washing dishes, waiting tables, barbacking, line cook
Lumberyard
HVAC
CVS
I had gotten my life insurance license like 7 years ago an worked with aflac briefly
Didn't do well
Got myself into a sales job for a bathtub company
Used that experience to get a state job working with student loans
Then leveraged my position there to get into this medical health insurance provider that I've worked at now for about a year
I'll update my resume here this year an get something else shortly
At this point I have credible work experience so I can just manipulate my resume to take me where I'd like to go
But it's been a bitch. I wish I went to school.
I left off prolly 9 other odd jobs I had thru the years that I suffered thru too
uh-oh

didn't finish high school.
i passed all my freshmen classes, (9th grade), but they failed me on attendance because i skipped to many days. i had all 9th grade classes again, but was failed on attendance again because i skipped to many days, so i dropped out. instead of being like 16 in freshmen classes.
i went to digital academy for like a month since they give you a computer, i downloaded AIM on it and a bunch of albums and porn, didnt do any of the work and got kicked out and they took the computer lol.
i worked at long john silvers for a day, and quit.
then i spent two years getting high, drunk and just going to parties with kids who had there lives together.
then i moved out of town and started living with my dad. i worked at a body shop being a bum for a couple years while getting high and playing video games and barely ever coming in.
then i moved back with my mom and continued my bum ways just getting stoned and fucking off. started going bald and self confidence dropped so i started messing with fat women and using them so i could get rides and shit.
then i started working at subway and just the amount of ho's i interacted with on a daily basis brought my confidence level back up.
i moved in with my boss who was a lesbian and lived there for a few months. it was very weird.
ended up moving back home, my mom moved out and my pops moved in. was a bum again for awhile
then i got a job at another body shop, and i've been taking it serious, since this shop is willing to teach me all aspects of the trade, my pops had to quit his job because his shoulder, and workmans compensation is screwing him so i've been holding us down and feel like i'm paying him back for the years i was lost being a loser
so word
my "alternative" was to be a degenerate basically
getting it together now tho
but as i say that, all day yesterday i was over at my boys doing blow, pills, drinking and smoking
we were gonna put new wheels on his jeep but ended up just painting his daughters four wheelers rims black, and watching her ride around in a yard in the hood while fucking with his pit bull, wearing it out watching it punch holes in basketballs

finished school @ 16. did well -- not as well as i should have because of a rebel complex my father gifted me and innate laziness... but hey natural talent > hard work, for a time, at least. then fumbled my way in and out of about 4 different colleges because i was too busy chasing pussy, drinking, smoking or wacking off to attend, and being a generally non-committal bastard. since 16 i've worked in a bar (collecting glasses), an industrial bakery (manual labourer, really), in a lil surveillance outfit as a sort-of-clerk, a supermarket (stacking shelves), and a delivery depot (moving heavy things) in about that order.
it's hard out here without an education but you can get by. getting by isn't the best-case scenario, though.
my life was pretty much going nowhere and i winged my way into a terribly prestigious institute last september [i'm still not certain how] doing a part-time course for two years with which i can jump into the penultimate year of a fully fledged degree when completed. it was a great break/opportunity which i've failed to take advantage of this year but will take the summer to re-evaluate my life, a bit, and get my shit together for the next academic year. i'm 24 btw, a bit late to that party.
it's still going to be hard out here WITH an education but working those shitty jobs taught me it will give a few more options other than a fatter pay packet - mainly i'd like to get out the country and be somewhere less urban. that's about it.

Masaii keep a journal when you travel. it's a no-brainer, one of the most rewarding parts of traveling is looking back and reliving the adventures in vivid detail.
as to not ignore the question, went to college, worked in finance, then politics, now I teach/finishing grad school in May.
I'm going to college this fall
Its a lame state school but fuck, it's cheap and I'm the dude that's going to be paying for it so that'll help. My grades through high school have been shitty but my SAT score was decent enough to get me to college, especially when the standards are pretty low.
Majoring in Engrish, possibly religion.

Yeah I did. Deadline was a little bit ago. My mom is graduating from the school I'm going to this year, so she knows all the things I gotta do and is helping me figure shit out.

my first degree was interactive media, my second fashion marketing and promotions.
i've found the skills i learnt during my time more beneficial than the degrees themselves.
